Just saw the highlights and the Citeh goal came off the back of Manny's head, did it not? So an average game from him. ;)

Now we have to find some counting mistake and play Duras actually 200th game is next week. The wind was 12th man on the pitch, each time Mooy want to kick the ball, he blew a bit stronger.

Great night out and a great result. Also wish we signed Aaron Mooy - he's a fantastic player.

Extra points for "good ball-heading skills, including a goal assist"

I thought it was pretty funny that the scoreboard under the screen at the fever zone end had WPX for Wellington Phoenix and MLB for Melbourne B

Brilliant game. Was expecting us to get well and truly humped. Thought Durante played out of his skin. Fox was decent abd did well to keep that diving cod Fornaroli under control. Manny looked really good as well. Ridenton has really come into his own the last couple of months.
Zone was pretty vocal and full which was cool.
The wind was atrocious and the way it kept pushing the ball while Mooy was trying to kick it was gold.
All in all a freaking awesome night and a great way to celebrate 10 more years.
A little gem from Ernie in the post match interview too "It was a strange game for us,” We didn’t have a penalty given against us, had no-one sent off"

It was my birthday yesterday.

Decent present I thought.

Never thought that 6,500 would come to my party though.

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's living in Agadez, Niger.  Spending more time in town, Agadez, as bad people in the desert are spoiling the good life.

Happy with the win.

I thought the Ref yesterday was one of the better ones that we have had this season.  Yes he let some of the niggly stuff agaianst Rolly go but both teams were afforded the same lenience, I want him again.

Even though the verdict is out on Fenton, I'm happy that he netted; likewise thought Manny and Dura had good games.

Mooy will never score a flukier goal.  I would have him in a heart beat and get rid of WeeMac.

WeeMac was invisible last night compared to the other X on the park.

I did not realise he was one of us but he did a good job last night.   I'm afraid to say though Hoddle that over the past 17ish years, the Kingz, Knights and Nix have all been bent over and given a good one by kiwi refs inc. Brian Precious, Peter O'Leary, and Fox to name but three.

How's this for commitment? My partner was in ICU at Wellington Hospital from Tuesday-Thursday this week then released into a ward on Thursday night. Got home yesterday afternoon then 6.15pm last night decided she felt up for the game so we went. Was a slow walk up to the stadium and she was pretty tired but lasted the whole game. Fan of the week?

He did indeed but was pretty anonymous for the rest of it. I dont know what is going on with him. Much much talent but it seems wasted out on the wing. Would prefer to see him in the middle.

I actually thought WeeMac was quite good - was the only one putting his foot on it.

Whenever he does anything good no one seems to notice. Maybe it's because he looks quite similar to other white guys in our team :d

All 3 up front put in a massive shift. I don't think we had a bad player on the park

I remember him putting in a lot of defensive work, particularly in the 2nd half.

It's Tim Brown syndrome.

Haven't seen the replay, but thought the ref was pretty lenient and we got the rub of the green with most decisions.  Think I'd have been a bit pissed off with it if I was a City supporter - but then again we often find decision goes against us (ala Roly being fouled), so I'm not going to complain.

I think that WeeMac has had a poor season overall - just think he played quite decent against City. No doubt he can do better, however. Brown was always obviously limited in technical ability.

but had no problem finding the net. Oh man- also Paston would have controlled his area and marshalled his defence better, so wouldn't have had to  make all those saves

Just on goalkeeping, I thought Mossy was a bit of an unsung hero the other night. Often when the high ball swings in towards him I wince, cross my fingers and hope for the best, but his punching was excellent, especially given the horrendous conditions. Top quality save to deny Fornaroli too.

Good to see Ernie and the media give A-Rod some love for the job he did on Moy.  I reckon Rodriguez is the real Tim Brown this year.

The first 10 minutes of the game were a surprise to all of us. Play going wide, good crosses into the box and amazingly a goal from anear post cross when the 'striker' beats the goalie to the ball. Great stuff! Then 80 minutes of the way we've played most of this season. Why?

Because Citeh eventually realised they were playing Phoenix?

This game was a fascinating watch. There were so many "battles within the battle".

Fox v Fornaroli - Thought Fox did very well to keep him quiet. Fornaroli only had a couple of decent chances.

A-Rod v Mooy - A-Rod did a nice job of limiting Mooy's passing options. the only time he seemed to threaten was when he pulled wider.

Roly v Malik - This was a highlight for me. First half Bonevacia's skills on the ball and general guile looked too much for Malik, but by the second half Mailk's physical approach really seemed to wear Roly down.

So we should offer Fox and ARod contracts?
