ARod is the new Lia. Works hard for the team, average fan can't see value for the team,  only coach and team mates give him credit.

I like ARod but personally I don't think he's quite delivered on early promise and when you're an import  you are held to higher standards.

I don't think A-rod has been as good this season as he was last season but he is still a valuable player for his work rate and passing accuracy. He doesn't do anything fancy or showy but that's not his job. He's also still young and only in his second season of senior football, playing an anchor role which is usually reserved for older, more experienced players. I'd be gutted if we let him go.

The only hesitation in letting him go for me would be the fact we've put two years into him.

I don't think he has hit the heights he should have - even when we were playing well last season. He often skips past defenders then *almost* gets the ball away but ends up losing it - it's quite strange. For me, he's still an almost-there player, not quite good enough to be taking up a precious import spot. Might be harsh; but if we want to win the league we need at least 3/4 of the imports to fire.

Keep him.

I think he is looking more confident on the ball and is reading the game better. I see him as a natural replacement for Riera in a couple of years.

Better passing accuracy and more passes per minute this season than Lia or Riera...

Imports are a lottery though - given what we know of ARod I'd much rather the Nix kept him and continued to develop his play rather than take a punt on an unknown. I think he's technically better than most other midfielders in the A-league, just has a few rough edges that should improve over time.

I keep thinking that, and am still an A-Rod supporter, but you would think he would've developed a bit more in his 2 seasons here.

You could actually probably say that about our young  kiwi guys that have been with us for the same time.None of them have really stood up and made a case for regular inclusion i match day teams.Yes some have made teams occasionally but im not the only one who is disappointed they have been unable to show a bit more. Dont expect them all to be a Marco but had hoped for more.

Not sure I've seen many discussions about that crowd, assume all are disappointed with 6.5k? The lowest of the season? I realise Friday nights aren't huge crowd pullers but do generally create a good atmosphere. Came up from Ch-Ch for it and enjoyed the YF Zone

I must be coming across as a bit of a fanboy, but I don't think injuries have helped his development. Though injury proneness could be a good reason not to keep an import.
