So proud of this team, and the coach.

Played some fantastic football, I love watching them.

Great evening out, loved every minute, will renew my membership yet again of course.

But what was that about , singing a song on 58 minutes? I don't care what the cause is, that was ridiculous.

Hope your not referring to Tutira Mai at 51 minutes,if so you need to get over yourself.

One of the few home games i've failed to go to, primarily because I'm a new Dad so didn't want to leave the twins.  But wow, what a game? This team keep getting better and better.  Subs were good and all contributed. A better player on the end of that knock back and it was 4-0. But I like Sotirio, he has a role to play.

I really hope we get to see this team play again in Welly this season. They're a joy to watch and under the right circumstances, we'd get a bloody good crowd there. I really hope things work out.

agree. The tribute was really well done otherwise.

Wow this is such a consistent team. We played really well yet again, both on offence and defence. I love how we can change our game despite the circumstances and still be very effective.

Now let's see how the situation evolves off the field in regards to the remainder of the season

I thought the team was good not great, and cruised to a easy win. You can tell this team have much more potential when playing there A-game.

I feel like the song at 51 minutes needed something to kick it off.  I spent the whole first bit trying to figure out where we were in the song and there were a lot also confused around me.

Still great effort.

And cracking game.

Beautiful tribute with the seats.  Hope it's done every year.

Sounds like the boys are off to Sydney on Tuesday unless the FFA suspends the League.

Victory players and staff will have to complete 14 days isolation too, going off this article.

Really going to throw the league into dissarray with rescheduling the backend of the season, and I don't think it's going to work. The cost alone to us staying in Aussie for any prolonged period of time would be astronomical - which makes me think the FFA will likely go ahead and postpone the league for a while until the bigger picture becomes more clear.

Yes I am, Im saying it was ridiculous. I don't go to football for that nonsense, we had a tribute before the game

There was a terrorist attack in our country, every event that ever falls on the 15th of March is going to commemorate it.  The tribute before the game was the Phoenix tribute, the tribute at 51 minutes was the Yellow Fevers. You don't have to join in if you don't like it.

Tutira mai nga iwi should be a regular fever chant.

Fenix doesn't seem to mind official commemorations of the victims of Nazi massacres in NZ, only informal fan tributes. Have I got that right?

Great result and the team really went for it. Our goal count is looking pretty good. Awesome performance. They didn't really let the Victory settle. Possibly the players had other things on their mind but then, they are professionals.

I thought the pre-match tribute was excellent. As for the singing in the 51st minute - cringe. Great song and if they had not put the words up, it would have been good as most there knew the words but the score board lyrics were wrongly paced and confusing people, hence it seemed like it was chopped and changed. Shame as it is a good song and a good recognition. Something else impressed me too, when those Muslims of all age groups came off the pitch and down the tunnel, they were given a fantastic and rousing applause from everyone over in that area. You could see some of them were quite moved by this gesture. I wish them all well. Well done Nix for acknowledging this in the way you did and the fans whom also showed respect. Proud to be a Nix fan.

2nd place is begging for us to grab, if we do play Sydney and could scratch even a draw, if would be awesome. I really am not sure what direction this season is taking but as I have said on other threads, we have a 5 month "off season". They could or should suspend the league for 2 months to assist in sorting this virus thing out. It means a shorter break between seasons but to me, that is an advantage for fans instead of waiting 5 months.

At the end of the day, player, coaching and staff health and safety is paramount along with us fans of course. I hope and wish everyone on here get's through this forthcoming situation is a positive and healthy way.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Not sure who was best (if only someone would do player ratings to help me decide...) but every time I see a replay of the Ball goal it gets better and better.

Just commenting on the relevance of 'Tutira mai' as a potential regular song/chant. The words seem pretty spot on to me and is something uniquely NZ that many New Zealanders already know (especially kids). Not too hard to memorize and some good shouty bits as well.

For yesterday, singing it at 51 minutes on this occasion seemed totally appropriate as well. Football ios more than just a game - its a great 'uniter' as well.

Tūtira mai ngā iwi, (aue!)
tātou tātou e
Tūtira mai ngā iwi, (aue!)
tātou tātou e
Whaia te marama-tanga,
me te aroha – e ngā iwi!
Kia tapatahi,
Kia ko-tahi rā
Tātou tātou e
(Repeat)

Tā-tou tā-tou
(tahi, rua, toru, wha)
Hi aue hei !!!

Stand together people
All of us, all of us
Stand in rows people
All of us, all of us
Seek after knowledge
and love of others – everyone
Think as one
Act as one
All of us, all of us
(Repeat)

All of us, All of us!!
(one, two, three, four)
Hi aue hei !!!

Would rather its kept for special occasions rather than a regular chant. Was done better last year, whoever was running the big screen got out of step with the crowd causing some confusion. Also don't really think you need Loyal during minutes silence.

Yeah Loyal wouldn't have been great. Thought Welcome Home was an incredibly fitting and touching tribute though.

Staggering that someone could be so bloody selfish, gets tested in Oz then jumps on a plane to NZ. FKN dickhead

I can respect that. Guess either way the intent is good and that's really what matters here.

Would be great to have all our imports back next season. Hooper probably won’t but we should see the rest. Finally we might have some stability from one season to the next. Upfield could tweak the squad a bit for next season but with the bulk of the players staying we will get better and better
