A bit of teacher vs student in Merrick vs Greenie on Saturday.
As always, looking forward to seeing those Feverites making the trip up! The Merchant pre-game.

Bit of a sidetrack from the game, but they're probably going to be welcome.
Saturday afternoon I'm doing the 2018 Shave For A Cure raising money for those suffering Leukaemia and supporting their families, having cultivated a suitably unkempt beard and hair since January.

Fark knows what it's going to look like underneath, it's been years since I've not had either a beard or some scruff on top.
I'm $100 off the total I'm trying to raise, so if any Feverites fancy chucking in $5 or $10, it's all for a good cause.
See you all at the Merchant pre-game. I'll be the shivering skinhead.

And all away grounds inbetween.
I've decided to go a long way away from a TV, phone reception or indeed electricity on Saturday night so that I don't have to put myself through the inevitable disappointment and anger.

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet
Anyone trying to make it to the Warriors beforehand?
You're a sick man.
Eastern Suburbs are playing Canterbury at Bill McKinlay at 2pm. That's more than doable mind.

Warriors win "away" first game of the season for the first time since 1999 - gate = 25,000, Phoenix lose 4-1 away yet again - gate 4,000 (Hopefully more but......). This could be interesting.
I spent the day in Auckland yesterday didn't see or hear any form of advertising for the game. Plenty of Advertising on the radio for the Warriors

To paraphrase the great Bill Shankly:
"If Newcastle Jest were playing in my back garden I would draw the curtains shut!"

I get ads in my FB feed from the warriors advertising season tickets etc. I'm not a fan of the Warriors on FB. I'm a fan of the Phoenix on FB, and in Auckland - but seen absolutely 0 about the game at QBE.
It's pretty bad.
Advertising this game would honestly be throwing good money after bad

That’s my afternoon sorted.
We are told one of the reasons they take games to Auckland is it dosn't cost the club any money. If that's the case why would you exoext them to waste money on advertising it. You would think whoever gas picked up the tab would be doing some.

It probably better to not piss money into the wind.
However, throwing money away on marketing will keep people from being able to whine about the lack of marketing, so it's probably worth it.
There's also no evidence that they aren't doing any marketing at all. That's a very hard thing to prove, and Jeff not seeing any marketing doesn't achieve proof.

It is the complete lack of even a mention on the FB page that is a concern given it a) Costs next to nothing b) Preaching to a converted Audience
But the main sponsor will be happy. And that is all that counts. I wonder how many of the crowd will be made up of people travelling up from Wellington? Be interesting to know and then deduct that number from the attendence.
I'd rather not have a day of my weekend ruined again so I'll probably give this a miss
I say this but I'll likely still watch

There's some quintessential schadenfreude to be had this weekend.

We're the WELLINGTON Phoenix
And this is our Home

Absolutely, but you’d think they’d at least put up a Facebook post or something.
I've desided to resign bye
Now you'll have more time to take a dip in Pandora Pond!

Is there even a designated Fever zone for this event?
I asked for fever zone tickets was advised by reply email they are in "yellow zone". They are in Block 3 and there is no indication on the ticket that they are in any particular zone - nor does there seem to be a fever zone option if buying on-line. After recent cluster-whatsits at QBE, I wouldn't see Block 3 (central-ish) working as a fever zone.
Apologies if discussed above - haven't been on forums for a bit and haven't gone through whole thread (too lazy).
I know, I know, its serious!

Also, I don't think many people will be there because the Phoenix are shark, so less likely to have issues.
The Phoenix are usually very good at briefing security about the Zone, it's NZF who have let the team down with those clusterfudges.
grass bank is open as they have been selling tickets on grab one for $8 for it!

I wonder if it has something to do with an automatic trigger on an extension? He does have a +1 in his contract I'm pretty sure
