One of our better performances for a while against one of the better A-League teams, but we couldn't hit the door of a barn from five yards.

Far too many mistakes. If you are happy with that then we are doomed.

Keep those games in Auckland, at least we can watch from the sofa with the sound turned down in Wellington

Not being able to buy a goal aside, the Nix looked like a damn decent team dare I say it. Greeny should at least be given some serious consideration for the big job.

Tando impressed me with his shot stopping and distribution from the back, although he almost got caught once.

I now understand why everyone here is so down on Scott Galloway.

Burns and Krishna working together kind of reminded me of a stroke survivor trying to learn to talk again. Almost... But not quite, over and over again.

Patrick made the call that Sarpreet just doesn't have anyone good enough in front of him to pick up on his through balls, and that's a good call.

Crowd honestly better than I expected.

And a big thumbs up to Balbi. He knows what he did.

The 90 second highlights were 4-2 to the 'Nix and we lose 1-0. Good to hear Tando was better outside that key moment, cos that key moment looked really poor.

Loving seeing Krishna and Burns together up front and Singh working with them. I'd love to see that for at least another year.

How were Paracki, Ljujic and Ridenton? Cacae any improvement on last week?

Did Kalu get on? I think he'd make a decent plan B, or a tactical switch if he wants to stay on.

That bench with McG, Kalu and Parkhouse starts to have a bit of tactical flexibility and players who are pushing the incumbents. Much better.

A handful of games left in the season. Eh

Plus it's clear who your team is from your avatar and they aren't doing too badly!

This lot is all some of us got...

Better performance all around. I would argue that at a stretch we deserved a draw.  However, this is the Jets, and we tend to play well against them, often.  I would not necessarily think we would have won against CCM yet.  Accuracy of passes improved for short passes, but not yet for long passes.

Burns improved on previous weeks re: fitness.  Paracki tried a bit harder this time, again, but not sure if he is really that useful going on his occasional forays up front. Tando deffinitely better than Italiano, had some really good saves despite the occasional problem or two. And finally, Cacace really needed to be subbed around 60 min mark, not Ljulic, IMHO.

I wonder if Greenacre would not work well with Rado Vidosic, in that Rado has a licence but does not want to coach as the head coach, while Greenie does not have the right licence but is happy to coach.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

I remember going to watch the nIx play our under 20 team in a friendly in Auckland and the crowd being about that

TBF having the game at QBE, on St Pattys, Warrior's, storm the gates, Nix Form and minimal advertising all would've contributed to the poor turnout.

thought we played well and largely dominated but lacked a finish. Youngsters all looked like they belong.

That was entertaining to watch to sad it hasn’t a happy end. This is also a minimal performance I now expect from the team. I don’t see this performance as genius stroke from the coach, it shows how bad the team played for month and if string some passes together, win the second balls you have even the chance to win.

Interesting to see lots of what looked like green dye on shirts of players when they fell over. Was the pitch painted again!?

Yep, they painted over the sand again. How hard is it to grow grass?

As well as Sky messing up their line up graphic, the graphic on the big screen at QBE showed Darije Kalezic as the head coach.

What a time to be alive ????

Ratings, like the votes I thought were pretty crap. We had the best 3 on the field, could make a case for best 5, but that’s not surprising in a game where we could have scored 4or 5 and it takes a Hoffy goal to decide the match lol.?

Permalink Permalink

Pretty fair ratings too. Singh looked dangerous, Burns finally got going, if he scores one you could see him scoring several. Fox and Doyle did well as centre backs.

Very impressed with the game all up. That was the best game we've played in a long time.

We hit them on the counter well and could've been 5 or so up. Think if Singh/Burns/Roy had more time together in that formation we'd have scored more.

Good to see we finally utilised our pace up front. Cacace is showing he's comfortable playing at this level, Singh is getting better every game and Flappy is SO much better in goal than Lewis/Keegan (despite his howler).

Onwards and upwards.
