I like Rufer and think he adds an element to our play that Devlin and Steinmann don't necessarily, but I don't think he's done enough to displace Devlin, as he's nowhere near the same player defensively that Cammy is, and Matti is less predisposed a silly giveaway or bad challenge while arguably offering as much or more in the passing department.

He's probably not as likely to make a rash challenge, but Matti is definately predisposed to a silly giveaway at least once or twice a game.

I think if Rufer is to come in it has to be for Steinmann. Their playstyles are very similar and I'd say Rufer has been better since the break. Devlin offers something different with his engine and compliments Steinmann or Rufer well but we saw at the start of the season with Rufer and Steinmanns partnership there was just something missing.

I'm not sure what is worse, watching Newcastle defend more tightly bunched than 8 year old kids, or listening to commentators who don't know when to shut up. Football never used to be like this.
