For me I'd put Siggy straight back in and move Boxall out to LB. Manny has been poor past few matches.

Reckon Ernie will just do a straight swap Siggy for Boxall though.

He'll persist with Manny.

Don't forget that neither Fenton or Boxall have spent any real time at left back. Manny would be a lot better on the right as well I think, so I'm not going to assume that switching Fenton over would fix our issues there.

SmithsCity is taking some time off for breaking forum rules.

Will he miss the finals and be given a fine?

Is this not round 26? I have been waiting for someone else to point it out but I guess I will.

Technically it's Round 27 and next week is Round 9. Round 9 was initially scattered throughout the whole season but when AFC pushed the ACL dates back  a week, FFA could move all the R9 games to be the final week of the league.

This is just a mathematical conspiracy against the Nix. Calculating the correct HAL Round number (thanks to the Asian Cup, the Cricket World Cup and the large cup in front of me) just about does my head in.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Its a change that everyone could see needed to be made.

Thought Doyle if there was to be a change. Interesting. You could say that Ernie isn't afraid to make a change when needed

That's been our FB combo at least twice this season I think, and has worked fairly well.

You know we belong together...

Has Fenton played LB this season?

I think it works because Boxall is more defensive and Fenton has license to get forward.

I just think Manny needs a break; not sure if his motivation is a bit lower these days.

Shift Lia to Fenton's side

He really helps him out.

After the Asian Cup break, didn't Manny have another break when he reached the yellow card limit? Agree that he's been off form though, maybe the constant bombing forward and then flying back that Ernie expects from his fullbacks is catching up with him because of his age.

Huh, you're right - I thought he was 32-33 for some reason! Well, so much for that explanation

we get 45mins of drunken keeper chants at Liam Reddy again this week.

Reddy you line up the drinks like nobody else

The way you reach for a pint gets me overwhelmed

And when you knock back a shot it ain't hard to tell

We all know, Reddy you're a drunk keeper.

..

Drunken keeper. Drunken keeper.

Etc.

Allegedly

Aahh..good ole fashioned goalkeeper abuse....Just imagine what it would be like in a small rectangular stadium .

Something like this perhaps....

Will this be our first ever all NZ back 4?  Leo, Sig and Lochhead always played with an Aus CB?  Dura being only relatively recently eligible for NZ.

Not sure.

Edit: guess not - Fenton, Sig, Dura and Doyle prob played together since Dura became an NZ eligible player?

CCM going to be pretty tough I think - have been good except for the thashing at Brisbane since Walmsley took over. Their style of play is quite similar to ours actually.

Only 38 posts and the game is tomorrow...that's strange isn't it?

Hope I can make it tomorrow.

Been working extremely long hours and will likely work late on Friday and then start early on Saturday so there is a chance I may have to miss the game altogether..though I hope not!
