So what did we learn from tonight...

Cosimo's penis is both soft and swings a lot

love the fact we took 3 good points against a good team, and still were angsting about something. Typical Fever!

So wtf is up with Fenton? Perhaps Ernie reckons he won't get any better sitting on the bench?

he was fudgeing awful for 70odd minutes.

If we could have beaten Newcastle we would have had a perfect start to the season. We have done well over these past two games without Durante. My only real concern is the make up of the front four. We have plenty of talent and options but I think the fit could be a bit better. I would rather see Sarpong as a bench player in midfield. I think if you put Powell at striker for a season he will look crap but end up with 15 goals.

Some of his passes into the box, where he cut inside, were rather ordinary / pedestrian.

He was actually solid in the defence considering he shies away from a tackle that Manny or Siggy would relish.

I thought Riera had a superb game and the midfield truly delivered today - we did not let Roar overrun us in the middle.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Pleased with the result, the bench looked really good as well so A+ effort from the lads and the YF chants. Also pleased to see some very neat technical skills rubbing off on some of the lads - Lead by of course Roly.

Doyle was impressive too, esp. for a guy that nearly did not make the cut.

That was fun.  Back to the old days, but with a bit smaller croud.  People will come back to watch that though.

Really good game and plenty of edge of your seat stuff.  Ten More Years, We're Going to Win the League and Lia, Lia, Lia at the corners .  Nice job Fever.

Would be nice, but if you look at it from another point of view, it's heartening to see that we can fight back from such positions. In season's gone by we'd end up being well beaten.

Agree fully however, especially away to the tards, and given our record over there.

He was diabolical,  can't run, can't
defend, doesn't take his man on, passes sideways or back.....we need a better right back

Easily his best game for the club.

I enjoyed the game tonight, very open and plenty of good moments.

- Commentary was especially bad, possibly the worse it has ever been. Often calling the names wrong and i'm sure I heard a lot of stuff that was straight out wrong (can't remember off top of head examples but remember thinking it during the game).

- Thought Sarpong was a lot better than last games played. I distinctly recall the commentator saying that Sarpong didn't play in the first game against Newcastle because of a foot injury. But i'm sure he subbed on in like 70th minute. Regardless, some moments of brilliance, good passing and good foot skills. Like a player who isn't selfish and can beat players, could turn out to be a good prospect once he is fully fit and has settled.

- Fenton was dire, he threw away a lot of good chances

- Sigmund and Manny were mostly alright, but still a couple of soft goals.

- Thought Lia and Doyle played well. Lia seemed to have had a boost from scoring last week.

- Happy for Blake Powell. Sometimes you just need a poacher, perhaps if Powell was on earlier he would have tucked away a couple of other poached opportunities that were missed.

great game tonight, only thing we did wrong was not sew it up a lot earlier. shark defending for the roars second. siggy, riera, roly and Krishna were immense.sarpong got better, even  fenton had a better second half. Doyle had a nice game.mcglinchey linked up well with roly and had a better game.credit to brisbane for an open entertaining game of football.

i hate most of the commentators these days, they talk too much, and dull the excitement of the game. Thank god i go to every nix home game, but i often end up watching the away games on mute.

Pathetic croud on a Saturday; sorry - no excuses now. This is gotten horribly bad.

To be fair, no-one stays in Welly for Labour Weekend, if I remember right.

Every home game there is another excuse, though. Getting a little old. Unfortunately it just seems that the city is now largely apathetic towards live sports.

great game to watch.

I just hope that Sarpong came here very unfit and still needs a couple of games, because he isn't going to be our burns or roly based upon his first three appearances.

[/quoteMainly because he was dire, time and again he got the ball in space and just didnt seem to have the desire to push forward.Plenty of frustration with those around me the number times he just wouldnt push on when given the chance. Wonder if those shoulder injuries have had an affect on his confidence.

Enjoyable game. First 55 mins or so we were terrific. Brisbane came back at us and bossed the last half hour or so but I thought the first hour we were excellent.

One of Reiras best games for us.  Lia was bloody good again. Siggy was excellent apart from one surging run where he gave the ball away. He has turned into a footballer. WeeMac very good also

Doyle wet ok but man of the match ? Who the fudge decides these things or is it under 9 stuff where everyone gets a turn

Great fun Saturday evening and exciting to watch.

Sarpong showed some silky skills, and if he links up better with the rest he will better from game to game, not worried about him.

Doyle had great game, the Roar has a really good attack and he defended like pro, he can be proud of his performance. Carlsberg man? Why not, everybody gets a turn.

Fenton lost a bit his speed when going forward. I guess Ernie has to do some coaching magic and let him continue to play. He is a class player and will come back.

I love that we score from corners and free kicks, hope we can keep that momentum.

Nice little scene before the game, someone had to show Durante where he had to go from the field to the his box to watch the game. Maybe his first Phoenix home game he watch from the stands.

This will be a cracker season if we continue to play like this.
