Lia is still horrendous IMO. That terrible effort before summing up his capabilities.

Lia has actually improved on the previous performances. He was satsfactory last week and is doing a job today.

So the players are flying business class. 23 bums.. 8 management... How many AIRNZ planes have 30 seats in business class sitting free....?

Yeah definitely. Don't think he'll even make bench anyway. He's on the long way back. Woods is the key in that department.

Na that will be for his hip. Hip pain is felt mostly in the groin

That's only 5 rows of business class seats is it not? Maybe some are slumming it in premium economy.

Smeltzy has gone downhill physically the last year or so. Let's hope he finds a good air hostess (or steward...) to ice him up real good during the flight

Fenton got caught out of position (again)

Fenton was out of position because he was forced to push up on Jamieson as no one else was marking him. Terrible defending by Sigmund. Sciola was going nowhere if Sigmund had just held his ground rather than pushing up.

You cannot hold Sigmund responsible for that as he got dragged out of position himself to cover Fenton and is not noted for his foot speed. Should have slide in though and left his feet in the box which is amateur.

You seem to be missing my point. Sure Sigmund shouldn't be defending in that part of the field, but he was forced to defend out there because Fenton was forced to push forward to mark Jamieson as no one had picked him up. Once Sigmund was pulled wide there was no need for him to press as high as he did. Sciola had his back to goal and would not have been able to flick the ball in behind if Sigmund had kept some distance between himself and Sciola. Given that Sigmund is also not noted for his speed, as you pointed out, that's even less reason for Sigmund to press as high as he did.

Agreed as already noted in AWs thread...meanwhile back in chilly CHCH judging by long sleeves under tops...

Carlos is going to have some bruises today. Looks like a deliberate Perth plan to put a little something extra in every time they challenge him.

Why don't players go

Our finishing today is pants, I didn't even know Shane was playing until he was pulled, played a great Invisible Man today.  Sigmund, Durante and Brockie will likewise need to up their games on Wednesday.

I think I would have taken off Huysegems or Brockie rather than Riera. The team is too unbalanced now for my liking.

I agree. I am a bit surprised at that. It leaves Hicks and Lia in the middle.
