Yeah because Stein looks like a goal scoring. If we aren't scoring goals we can't respond by dropping our only goal scorer.

What did the players thinking in 93 rd min? Last attack and noone in the box????? Chances wasted!

Norwich City supporter since 1992, New Zealand supporter since 2010 but without Rory Fallon's winning goal against Bahrain, I won't know about New Zealand Football.

Phoenix are my passion, pride and joy and I have lost all faith and belief in them.

Did not think for a second that the penalty would go in.

Such a frustrating game/season.

Where do we go from here? What can Merrick say after that other than SHAMEFUL!

Botafogo - Rio de Janeiro and Wellington Phoenix, my two teams til death do us part.

wow just wow, what a load of rubbish that was! 10 shots on target and all at the keeper! surely even the worst striker in the world knows to hit it to one side or another! Once again we create plenty of chances and then see Stein and Jeremy waste them! Do we not have anyone to take penalties? Can't believe we manage to lose that!

have to lay the balme on the players for that - clearly the tactics worked - the finishing didn't, as dor the defensive error from siggy for their goal!!!!

Both Brockie and Stein culpable. Think they should spend a couple of nights on the piss until they throw up the bad juju inside...

Also our most threatening and confident player was Louis and when we put Ifill on he got in his way. He was absolutely carving them up down the right.

Our shape was good-ish. Cunningham seems like Brockie in that he likes kicking people...

yeah totally agree - whilst it was frustrating to watch I think tactics were ok.

Hysugumby and Brockie worst striker pairing in the world. If Ernie doesn't start Ifill on Sunday he should be sacked...

I have never been more frustrated or angry after a Phoenix game. I was literally yelling at the television towards the end of it. We should have won that easily!!!!!

Riera had a strong game, him , moss, muscat, ifill the standouts

This. I just had that feeling. I wasn't even surprised when Reddy saved it.

Exactly it's been the same story all season. We have had way more ball than we did under Herbert and yet we don't capatilize off our chances.

Because across the board we are not good enough. Nearly, but not quite.

Very few jobs where you can show up week in week out, with a poor attitude and put in poor upon poor upon poorer performances. Some of the players need to have some self pride. Because some of the performances are embarassing.

Permalink Permalink

Think Brockie and Huysegems should start, Huysegems should play deeper, but I do think more team building and less taking shots is in order...They looked terrified everytime they had to take a strike...if they were drunk it would take the conscious mind out of it and they need practice and not farkn hobbling themselves and dwelling on every miss..

Correct. What would you have our front line be/ Ifill can't play for 90 min.

I counted 3 Riera long ball passes that went over the goal line. He was shocking. Yes a couple of through balls were great but that's not enough.

Can I just say that Merrick's expression towards the end of the game was priceless.

Bit of a broken record. Played better than the other team but just cant finish and then we let in a stupid goal.

Roll on Sunday. Roll on our first win.

Brockie out of the squad until he grows back his hair. Wouldn't mind seeing ifill starting.

Permalink Permalink

Had enough clear chances to win this comfortably. Ifill should be starting. There is no one in this team that keeps him on the bench imo. Frustrating stuff. CCM looked rubbish too.

eyes and body language eh. Haven't seen a clearer case of it since the Bahrain game...

That was absolutely appalling. Epitomised by Lia turning his back in the wall and jumping in to Ifill's free kick! Another incredibly dumb Nix moment in a season of the same.
