All that work and Gulley again can't pass the ball. I count 6 times either Doyle or Gulley have killed an attack.

How many times does Roly need to get fouled before the ref calls persistent?

I think Gulley gets beaten every time when it's 1on1. I'm not seeing the promise there. Anyone else?

Not nearly at our best but some good chances and 0-0 was frankly better than I was expecting at half time. But we'll have to pick it up to get some points. Sub Roly?

Early days for Gulley. Two games away in 5 days means he could be drained.

We're playing worse than the WSW game imo.

Playing very slowly and Sydney aren't playing very well either.

I think the play is scrappy because this isn't a derby.

I thought gulley has showed promise in his few games

Adelaide attacked him mercilessly and despite a couple of errors i thought he came up well out of that, seemed like a bit of a trial by fire

Average game,Fenton hasn't turned up will be very surprised if him or Rodriguez aren't hooked in  the second half!

I think he could come good; but i'm not seeing it yet. Maybe it doesn't help that Doyle isn't exactly an attacking full back, so he feels some responsibiltiy to go forward as well.

I hate to be that guy but I do feel we could really do with Rufers energy in the second half. Don't think we'll see Fenton come back on at RM, I think he'll either be moved back or subbed.

TBH the Blues are not WSW.  They have a decent squad but  the sheer number of new foreign faces means they lack instant understanding which, say, Victory has. They do not have the "mongrel" of WSW either, possibly due to fewer home-grown players in the squad. You can't deny WSW have more swagger than SydFC.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

I think Doyle is the one out of his depth, keeps making basic passing errors and getting caught out of position.

Disagree, think we're defending well, turning over the ball across the park and passing accurately (mostly) into tight spaces - not something the Nix have been good at this season. What they're lacking right now is someone to hold the ball up and bring the rest of the team into play when transitioning forward.

Very good analysis I was quite suprised, Prehaps a replacement for Dewy?

I think its fair to say that the 2 FBs and Fenton are our weakness. A-Rod has been good. Roly has moments but he is getting kicked off the ball so you have to forgive him for a: not being protected b: wanting retribution himself c: not being able to do anything because d: he is getting kicked off the ball.

I made the call on Fenton prior to KO. He looks dreadfully short of confidence and form. I feel for him because it came on around his shoulder injury again but this is pro football and right now, I would drag him.

You can't do much with the FBs as we are thin. When you consider that we could have Manny there but is covering Sigmund and Gulley is covering Fenton whom is covering Sarpong and Doyle is not necessarily the 1st choice LB for Manny, it makes your head spin and you can see that the real quality that is missing, is in the back flanks. If they were tightened up, what a different team we would be.

Just to re-enforce my point, teams are coming at us down our flanks and crosses, cutbacks. They never come at us through the middle.

Agree but like Broich, they don't protect the ball players and disincentivise (is that a word?) to stop fouling. "Right cap'n that's 4 by different players. Next one is copping it"
