Is this the Fucken Wanker that is trying hard to fuck off everyone??

Sorry about the language but Music before and during games really pisses me. I like to hear the atmosphere build as crowd numbers increase and most certainly not during games.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

I know you guys must be fed up with another draw but I thought it was a good game. Scrappy at times and too many loose passes but also some nice interplay. Thought Fenton showed good touches and Huysegems put himself about. Hernandez looked off-colour, what a miss in front of goal. But nevertheless an enjoyable game to watch for an outsider. Boyd lifted things up front when he came on. I think the Phoenix are starting to gel as a passing unit and when they get it right they're dangerous. I like what Merrick is doing and hope he gets the chance to see his vision through. The pity is that Ifill is near the end of his career, his late fast reaction shot showed what you're missing. Someone who is accurate and can shoot quickly. Cunningham has pace but he's not going to bag a lot of goals because he seems to get too wound up. Still not convinced about Brockie.

I still think Tade is the kind of fast tricky striker who could slot in up front for you guys and would score goals once he finds his feet in the A League. Anyway, lets hope you break the win drought in Perth.

I am going to agree with you but do you release an import and bring in Tade? They would have to eat a wedge but as has been pointed out, we have no 'strikers', just manufactured ones. If anyone goes, it would have to be Stein purely because Ifill makes a difference and Kenny and Carlos have two years (talking hypothetically but its unlikely to happen). Stein also appears to be the odd man anyway.

I don't envy Ernies position because he either has to ride it out in hope or make some big calls. I guess come Jan 16, he'll know if they have come right or he has to make some calls.

Our defence is better than theirs, but their attack is not necessarily much better than ours; let's see how we shape up against the Reds before making any calls on that comparison. If we can't score against Adelaide that should ring some alarm bells for Ernie.

Exact same thing happened in Christchurch. I really hope that this isn't a directive from the club, because they should be saying the exact opposite (i.e. no music from the first whistle of the half until the last whistle).

The pre-match music drowned out the chanting from the Zone as well, surely the chanting etc is one of the drawcards of football, and if people wanted to listen to music they would go and watch rugby or a T20 borefest.

I think the ground announcer guy is new this year. The last guy went overseas. I'm sure the club will listen. We've set Hard News on them.

Thanks for that.
Our group talked about it in the pub aftermatch. We will definitely NOT attend Nix home games if that dickwad is there playing music. We all gave up one day cricket years ago because of the music. Jesus wept!  what is the world coming too! Does everything have to be like American Idol.

Also they need to tone down the "health and safety"  shit inside the stadium. Its bad enough being earbashed all along the stadium causeway but we don't need it inside the stadium. FFS its meant to be a fun day out.....we get enough of the shit at work!

May be the music is part of the "lets get more casual fans to the match" They had the dancing Nixettes....who were kind of cute but just because they have hired some Events manager with a shiney degrees in Event management does not mean they understand the underlying philosphy of football supporters.

I did not mind that guy on screen, he was doing nor more than his normal announcements. The music was indeed very strange, I thought someone pressed the wrong button. When I watched the Bundesliga game a few month ago, there was no video of the game, no replays of goals, nothing, nada on the screen except cheap advertising, I found that strange.

Agreed. Aren't there enough football-savvy people on the board to know that chanting etc is part of the game, which is obliterated with this kind of nonsense. I thought this was really bad at the Christchurch game, and assumed it was some sort of a one-off, so did not complain. However, watching last night's game from the pub, we could clearly hear the music (mostly when the play stopped). What's next, a rotating shiny ball over the centre circle?

I enjoyed the way we played again. It's refreshing. Pity it was WSW as their defence is tough to breakdown (3 conceded away to Brisbane excepted) We're playing a lot of top sides right now. But are just down on confidence in front of goal. Good we're off to Perth virtually straight away, and play friday.  Think we'll win this. Have no doubt if we can score early, we'll definitely win it.

With austin10 on the health and safety messages. Waiting outside for someone and listening to that message about 100 times is highly annoying. As are the OTT bag checks. How many people are seriously sneaking in alcohol at 5pm on a Sunday? Total overkill.

Perhaps if the stadium sold their drinks cheaper and in a decent sized bottle, glass, cup, then perhaps people wouldn't need to try. Sorry, that sound like too much common sense. Is there anyone worse than red badge? They come across as wannabe policemen.  Some one said on here it is as if they have been told not to let fans enjoy themselves and they do a good job being like that. Except Marley of course,

I'm guessing that they target males of a certain age.  I've never had a problem (touch wood) - they look in my bag but most times just pat around the outside and I'm off (mostly it's quite obvious that I'm family guy).

Although in the last two home games Red Badge come up to our row several times during the match - they never used to do this as much in previous seasons.

Yeah and $4.00 for a 200ml bottle of coke zero when you can buy a 1.5l for $3.70 in the shops. X4 beers has gone up $10 since 2007.

I hate how much they charge at the stadium it's disgusting and it almost certainly influences whether people come to the match.

That's Spotless for you, profit over service every time but too dim to realize that if they lower prices they get more customers and pedal more of their shitty food and beer.

Think you are a bit hard on Red Badge. I've seen them put up with some really rowdy behavior and turn a blind-eye. The drunk young locals at Napier spring to mind. It's not a popular job and on the whole I've seen them throw out maybe 3 people since 2007 - all of those justified.

Spotless? I know them at work as "Pointless" because that is what they are. Cheap and cheaper.

The stadium wonder why people show up half tanked at those rip off prices. Red Badge turn a blind eye in some cases because they think they are out numbered. I can sympathise with that, but 99 percent of patrons would back them as I believe we are all sick of the dickheads playing up at games.

Muscat was good at LB but without him the midfield is missing something. The more the game wore on the more I thought we could really do with Chris James right now - and once Ernie had to make subs we lost all our shape, as there was no midfielder on the bench. If it's true we tried to get Keat then I think we'll be silly not to try for James.
