Swap Burns for Williams next week, let him have a run at a tiring defense with fresh legs and he's bound to score.

What's sight without sound? Love without peace? Copulation without conception?

Now that Singh's getting a little bit of physique and confidence to try things, I honestly think the sky's the limit for the kid. Our answer to Arzani and he's a bloody good one

Sensational.

That half an hour from Williams was wonderful. Sublime second half from Singh. Thought Rufer was really good in the first half. Some great passing from Mandi. A lot of batting by Krishna. Cacace is increasingly impressing me as a class player with the ball.

Looked scary at the start of the second half when Brisbane actually started playing well, but we didn't let up from our attacking play. Rudan didn't wait too long to make the substitution. The energy and confidence we were playing with was top notch.

Rudan deserves a lot of credit.

Rufer, for me, has been the find of the season so far. Ridenton going to the Jets has been a massive win for the Nix as I don't think Rufer would have got the game time otherwise, and he's shown recently he's simply a much better player when given consistent playing time.

Just read the 442 forum, big accolades for the team, but some smart comments about the players playing for other teams next season!!!!

Great performance Phoenix - Singh was amazing - great call by Rudan to bring Williams on - game changer - Rufer's improvement probably sums up what Rudan's doing at this club. And don't worry Phoenix about crowds - they will come in droves in the New Year. Don't know anyone who didn't have a Xmas BBQ they were forced to go to tonight.

really wonder how Ridenton is feeling right now.

if you're in my doubt about whether we are the real deal, watch a replay of tonight. Dominated the game, we're confident after they equalised, limited them to very few shots and dominates them physically. We combined the toughness of our beat under Ricki with the attacking play under Ernie. Sensational. If you live in Wellington get along cause something is developing here

also I have a feeling that Steven Taylor might be our most important signing ever. He's so obviously a leader and it's changed the whole on pitch feel of the side. I love dura but it had gotten pretty negative under him

Spoke to him on the way out. He really enjoyed it but wasn't impressed with Brisbane. Neither was I, all they did was foul and there was so much not picked up by the ref, on and off the ball, and not enough cards. How that number 6 finished the game on the pitch I shall never know!

Cacace, Dura, Doyle, Fenton, Rufer, Singh, Krishna - anyone still complaining about Nix not developing NZ players?

Best performance in some time. Mark Sudan - credit where it is due. We are not only winning but we are winning in style.  The big benefit is that our ground is becoming the fortress again it was at one time.

The only negative is with Sydney losing to Perth yesterday Corica is going to come under increasing pressure and speculation. If he were to get sacked Rudan is now right in the shop window

Welp, at half-time I was expecting a "cagey draw" at best, a heartbreaking Roar more likely. But bringing Williams on for Burns really blew the game right open. Should Williams start next time, or is playing as "supersub" better for him?

What I really liked seeing was the variation at set pieces - 95% of what Singh/Rufer tried didn't come off, but they were actually trying it. The Nix now have confidence to try stuff, something I haven't seen in a long time.

Young, the Brisbane keeper, was solid (except giving away the penno - I've done that kind of thing myself after wearing myself out after keeping a million shots out), and he had every right to rip his defence a new one after the 4th goal.

Worst thing is the inevitable shift of Singh to the Tards for big money next season. :(

pretty sure he is signed for at least one more season!

More interested in what kind of contract Rudan is on,players come and go but he's the diamond in the coal mine!

Played like a team, looked like a team. We we rather fortunate when their forward slipped in the box when it was 1-1, but we really punished them for that. All Brisbane did was foul all 90 mins, and the ref was way too lenient. We played some lovely football and it was a great night's entertainment.

Rudan is contracted till end of next season isnt he? Why would leave when he's doing well here. He's said he considers himself a kiwi and here for the long haul. The only way he's going to Sydney is if the nix have already folded.

Thanks to those who took the time to answer my query RE pubs showing the game in and around Nelson. A lot has happened in the last 24hr, I'm camping where there's no reception, don't know where all my sodding data has gone and I'm currently sitting in Nelson airport waiting for my brother in law's plane which has been delayed by a couple of hours. Then I need to drive back another 45 minutes to the camp site so I'll have to check the score in the morning (or when I have Internet access next)!
COYN!

That's a real shame - if you get a chance to watch the replay do it - especially the second half

Yes two of those are not Kiwis. However the other 4 are, and it’s great to see them all getting quality minutes.

Great performance Nix. They are on a roll.

But a word of caution, Brisbane were piss poor. Plus losing Mikklesen and Henrique both to injuries was disruptive.

Bring on Victory, a huge game now.

Man, such different feels compared to christmas last year. Remember losing badly to Sydney, i think the whole vidosic break up had just happened and the team had completely lost its identity.

Enjoy the moment.

12 months ago we had Keegan Smith in goal. Let that sink in.  I'd still love to know who thought that was a good idea, Rado or Kalezic. And that's not a dig at Keegan who got chucked in the deep end
