I would bench all the 'stars', there useless, bring on some of the wenix players, they know how to grind out results, at least they would loose fighting. We are fudgeing last on the ladder, again. I think Ernie had to re-invent himself pretty quick or someone has to pull the plug. This is all spiraling downwards.
That's ridiculous, huge over reaction. The wee-nix lost to Hawke's Bay, it's a big step up from Hawke's Bay to A League.

Disappointing show to say the least. I would think this team should be capable of better performance than what I saw tonight.

The only word that comes to my mind is impotence, and tonight it seems to be a defining word of the Ernie era. A good manager of players but it does not translate into good results on the pitch.

Well it can happen when you reach a certain age unfortunately!

Also, I do not think it is the 'stars' that are the problem.  Some weeks ago I said in jest that we seem to sign on great players and turn them into mediocre plodders. The humour of that sentiment has worn off now but the statement remains true.  One Nix signing remains unfilled - that of a good tactician.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

What use would a good tactician be though if those around him dont have the skills to execute anything.

Thanks for serving that up when travelling to Adelaide, 'Nix.

What the fudge was that? Pathetic.

I get one chance to see them and this is what happens!

Lia GET OUT

Ernie  ... OUT

Parkhouse OFF CORNERS.

Krishna OFF PENALTIES.

Watson MORE GAME TIME.

Tratt FOR CAPTAIN.

Everyone practice passing to the advantage of the yellow kits and everyone learn how to take a bloody penalty!!!!

Can't handle this shark anymore. Wake up Ernie, you may have a false sense of hope and positivity, but most of our fans don't!

I am committed to Hamilton but Auckland, not yet. Is it worth driving all that way to be let down yet again? this next two weeks will see me using up valuable annual leave days to attend.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Well considering we lost 5 players in the last international window and it would have been 6 if Doyle was fit and we still started NZ eligible players...

Tv 3 news banner "Phoenix lose again 2-0 in Adelaide. After missing penalty". That will help the gate.

What will help the gate is winning.

TV news banners arent the problem.

It may well not be correct but I count Moss, Durante and Kosta. 3. Not that it has any relevance to the performance.

trying to find something good about last night but failing miserably. I dont know if the tactics the manager is playing or the the players not being able to follow instructions that are given, either way its not working. I like Ernie but found myself thinking how he thought Fenton and Ridenton would change the game. Lots of things wrong with the way we played, passing, attitude, not too many ideas, I could go on. Adelaide were bottom of the pile and they played us out of the game, Something has to change

I try not to go straight into coach blaming (thought it was hilarious the way suddenly some fools starting blaming Hansen after the Ireland loss) but there just seems to be something not right with the formation and the way the players just aren't responding during these types of games. The players don't seem motivated and that is of course their fault as well as Ernie's, but yeah. A formation change must happen now.

WeeMac didn't play but he was with the squad and in camp as was Fenton.

I wasn't commenting on the performance I was replying to the person who said we had two players eligible for the AWs.

I can understand those changes. Gui's work rate had dropped and we had replaced a midfielder with an attacker and Ernie probably wanted more work with and without the ball, same with Fenton - fresh legs.

No you need to read, because the exact numbers are not the point, the point was that someone was claiming we only had 2 nz eligible players.

Yep - Tratt and possibly Rossi. Outside of them though I'm not so sure.

Only because of injury, we'd have 4 starting if Doyle and WeeMac were fit, and it should be 5 because Moss is clearly the best keeper.

5 - Moss, Dura, Doyle, WeeMac, Kosta

I would say 7/8 out of the matchday 16 are normally NZ eligible

You aren't taking into consideration the fact that two of the starting players are injured though.

I don't think I want more than that number of AWs anyway, I'd rather NZ players were playing professionally all around the world rather than just at the Phoenix.

The reason Ernie gave for not signing young NZ players is because of the risk of loosing players in international windows which is fair enough. I'd like young kiwis playing for the team, but something has to be done to alleviate the international window situation.
