Should be a good game and looking forward to the "Long Distance Derby".

I will still be smiling in the sunshine in Perth.

We are unbeaten after 90 minutes in our last three visits to Perth! Looking to extend that against your boys this weekend, and what better time to do it than when you have so many players out injured!

And our player have normally been in bed for 2 hours at this Killer KO time.

Will be interesting to see how we do the travel. CCM traveling to Perth on game day, so they don't get their body clocks altered. We don't have that luxury with a Friday night game.

Has anyone seen much of the Edwards brothers? Are they actually any good or is there a serious case of nepotism going on at Perth Glory? Having two sons in the starting line up as a coach is always a questionable act. Must take real bravery from Alistair Edwards..

Top of 31 degrees on Friday but will probably cool down a bit before KO.

Rufer has only just come into the squad after exams. To throw him with no game time, no training time and no time with the team in a professional environment would be reckless.

Ken Armstrong picked his sons for Mt. Wellington and they were both excellent for the AWs.

Anyone know what we're paying to beat Perth on the weekend?

Carlos was awful on the weekend

WSW got under his skin by kicking him out of the game early and he totally lost his composure.

Yep, he dwelt on the ball and got caught in possession about three times in 5 minutes and he kept giving it away.  It's difficult when he's our only outlet cause people do double up on him.  But he really didn't have a good afternoon.

Hicks is a funny one.  He plays good keep ball in the middle of the park but he hasn't really made any incisive passes forward since his first game. He's neat and tidy but not really penetrative.  But I'd be interested to see him further forward actually, I just don't think Huysegems is suited to that position

TAB Banner at the top of the page takes you to the odds. Currently $4.20 to beat the Glory.

He has traditionally played as an AM at Northern League level (the very spot Carlos plays)

It will be interesting to see how he goes. He will be different, I don't think he will drop as deep as Carlos to receive the ball but will probably move into wider areas of the pitch to find space to receive the ball more than often than Carlos. He is tidy on the ball at least.

Totally disagree. Theres not Risdon, Gallas, Stevey Pants, Jamieson and he's going to be up against boys apart from Thwaite. He could do a half and so could Ridenton. Perfect op to blood them IMO. Exams yes but both fit

I would not count on that - it looks like a flurry of activity for Perth early on, followed by a Nix increased control of the game and at least one goal. I will be keen to see how they shape up without Carlos on the pitch.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

I think mannys is a big loss in this game. I remember perth exposed us easily down th flanks in the last game. But their defence looks like theyve just learnt how to walk. Which should have our lads licking their lips.

especially Sidnei Sciola Moraes against Louis.  And no Manny to bail him out after 45 like in Chch.

But Fenton subsequently managed pretty well v Mexico, so hopefully he's learnt.  Thought he gave Moraes a bit too much room in Chch.

Didn't get a lot of help from the ref

In some ways I am pleased Carlos did cop a significant injury, because his effort and body language was not good for much of the second half v Wanderers.  Hopefully next time he's heavily marked his team mates can give him more options, and/or play around him into space, because he looked totally frustrated with what was happening.  Probably happier Carlos has a niggle, rather than he got down to a walk in frustration.

I'd take the $4.20. First game I've thought we'd win, even without Hernandez.

Hit up The Station, and say that you're a member of Yellow Fever and they should sort you out. They were really good to us when we were in Napier for the Jets game.

I would have said that if we had a couple of wins under our belt, Ernie may have given our kids a chance to run at these guys, but while we're still searching for our first 3 pointer, im guessing he wants to take advantage of the perceived weakened squad, and try to guarantee a win, as opposed to blooding too many of our kids up against them tonight.

Guarantee if it turns into a goal scoring frenzy for us, you'll watch the second half regardless of work commitments :)

Same here (busy Sat morning) . I will be watching regardless, since we're going to win.
Is the actual kick-off at 11.30pm, or just the start of broadcast, commentaries, squads, national anthems, warmups, stretches etc?
