Reddy's been a good add for us. He's a great shot-stopper and he proved it tonight.

He wants to play in NSW - and with the Rovers coming in, there's a fair chance he'll get a gig somewhere. Maybe Old Bling want him to supplant Bolton? There's always Newcastle too.

Nah,thats a waste of salary cap. is better to do what we're doing now, have one,and a decent enough backup, but then if possible sign up another good keeper on injury cover if your starter gets injured.

Allegedly

So if we do have a yoof team next season, does Reece go into that?

I'm fine with Paston going forward as the #1...wouldn't we all after November 14?

I think Crowther is coming off-contract at the end of this season, but I would like to see him stay on and be developed as a back-up. Relatively speaking, he's not bad.

Ah but how does he get developed as a back-up?

I like him and he has done quite well in the few opportunities he has had.  But you have to admit he doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in the way that Paston and Reddy do (due to their experience).

That is probably the best and fairest observation of Crowther. Good, young, but not confident in him due to lack of experience and time at the coal face.

If we don't have a 2nd team, he wont develop so (from his point of view) why would he stick around when he can't even play reserves/youth?

Grumpy old bastard alert

look at how often we've had to change keeper this year (injuries, babies) I think two worthy-of-a-start keepers is a good way to go. Reddy has 100% proven his value and we'd be silly not to at least have a go at keeping him.

If we had them both for next season I'd probably play Reddy ahead of Paston but then Paston's NZs number one keeper for the WC and needs gametime.  So basically it's good in a way that Reddy wants to return to NSW.

Reddy has already come out and said that this stint with the nix is short term only he wants to be playing in Sydney....with his current form he's not likely to struggling to find a home.

Queenslander 3x a year.

exactly and if he is playing injured even if its minor, it shows how good of a player he really is.

Reddy has been fantastic for us. What I love is his attitude. Tough, no nonsence, confident. He is not afraid to bollock the defenders.
he was fired up for the Roar. He had a couple of firery exchanges with a few of is old team mates...great stuff!!!!!
Don't  think he will stay though....he has firmly committed to moving his family to Sydney. Shame for us.

How good was it when he stood over Franjic absolutely giving it to him? Seldom see that kind of thing in the A-League, and then him and Reinaldo having a kiss and a cuddle after the goal. Obviously didn't leave on great terms

You shouldve heard the small Roar contingent sitting behind the goal of the northern end in the first half, they were giving Reddy sh*t for the full 45mins.

Mind you, they wouldve had the best seats in the house to experience the brace of big Dadi

The signing of Reddy & now Dadi have been very clever, well done Phoenix!
