Toto strikes me as someone who plays very immature football. Not in an offensive sense do I mean that, but he doesn't look up and generally just charges forward, loses it, and starts again from further back. Very similar to what you see young kids do.
Agree, wasn't very impressed with him on Sunday, although he was certainly more committed than Daniel.
I was even less impressed when I saw him out on the town at 3am on Courtney Place looking absolutely smashed and going home with a couple of ladies. Hardly what you want a member of your squad doing in a season defining week for the club where we play 3 games in 8 days. Tool.
Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Only if you consider running round like a headless chook 'committment'.
Haha, only get down from Auckland once or twice a season.
I must admit, it was classy, i'm pretty sure he doesn't speak any English, but he's got that smooth Argentinian way about him I guess, the international language of love. Not bad for the shortest man in the bar.

I don't care if it's after your one game for the week, but not really the best idea for this week is it.

At least George knew when to hit something other than the bottle.

Did Churchill say he'd fight them on the beaches? Did Stalin just give up his grad? Did Abba quit after Waterloo?
NO!!
ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK!
We've got (back) probably the best defensive unit in the League, Roar have been pretty handy, BUT we can score goals too, so....
Here is THE prediction......
(light bulbs fall from ceiling, baby moreporks fall out of their nests etc. etc.).....
Rort 1 The Mighty Phoenix 2
Remember;
We are the Phoenix. We can beat anyone.

and....
I can be wrong, but sometimes I'm exquisitely magnificent! (Nix 4, Perf 0. Eh? eh?)

Nostalgia isnt what it used to be...........

Did you pick that?!

Did you pick that?!
He's been going on and on about it scooby.

My prediction is one all.
Hope Rojas is rested, or start off bench, LOVE to see him come at the Purr late in the second half.
That may be what gives us a sneaky 2-1 win if it's going to happen.
Yellow Whever Whanganui
We will never fully decide who has won the football.

Did you pick that?!
OH yes!!!
(and I'm still only on here as a Part-Timer.................pah!)

Nostalgia isnt what it used to be...........
Thank you very much. Not bad for a "Part-Timer" I thought....

This! He has to go for goal a second time if he wants to acheive his dream!
So you put money on it already too then?

They've had two weeks off which could go either way.
But we havnt been terrible away and we can attack with Ward and Rojas. Hope toto is emitted.
They arent at their home ground and they arent happy about it. Ange has already planted the excuses and complaints about Skilled park so we can do this.
I'm on the wall about Rojas starting. If he doesnt, then atleast give him 35 minutes minimum for me, attack those tried legs.
This is a good test for us and my heart is telling me we can cause a real upset.
I shall forever live in optimism.

I agree in part. We can win.
I've read all the Brisbane papers and can't find any excuses that Ange mentioned. All he said was that they loved to play in front of their home crowd at Suncorp and hoped that the supporters would travel to the Coast.
They will be trying very hard to win this, make no mistake.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid
Auckland will rise once more

what, sort of like a fart?
No reason we can't snatch something. Stranger things have happened.
I'd like to see:
Vuko
Hearfield-Siggy-Dura-Lochy
Manny Lia Brown
Daniel Ward
Greenacre
Only problem is without the big donkey up front we will need to keep it on the deck and Skilled Park is sh*t + Brisbane are better than it than us
If things aren't working then take off Lia for Pavlovic and switch to 4-4-2

I thought Churchill did say they'd fight them on the beaches?
Other than that, all I can say it I hope you're right.
My money's on 1-0 Roar, but it could be 1-0 Nix. I don't see a high scoring game personally, unless we chase it too much.
Looks like they will manage a decent crowd.
Postecoglou prepared for Phoenix party-poopers
Tuesday, 25 January 2011 by Michelle Tobin
Brisbane Roar will be out to equal an Australian national football league record tomorrow, but will face stiff opposition from a fired-up Wellington Phoenix outfit keen for revenge.
Should the Roar avoid defeat in tomorrows Week 24 clash at Skilled Park, the club will equal the longest undefeated streak in Australian football history, 22 matches, set by APIA Leichardt back in the 1986/87 season of the National Soccer League.
However, Ricki Herberts men will be out to spoil the party after the last meeting between the two sides was dominated by the Queenslanders, who ran out 4-1 winners on the day and ended Wellingtons two year unbeaten streak at Westpac Stadium.
That in mind, Brisbane Roar coach Ange Postecoglou said his side were ready for the challenge, buoyed by the return of attacking right-back Ivan Franjic to the starting eleven and the possible inclusion of Brazilian livewire Henrique in the final 15-man squad.
The boys are looking forward to the game, Postecoglou said.
Weve got a couple of boys who have missed out through injury that are just about ready and the rest seem pretty good, fresh and ready for a game.
Were at the tail of the season when everything gets decided so I dont think well be flat.
The Phoenix are coming off a comprehensive 4-0 display against Perth Glory, a result that maintained their seventh spot on the league ladder and will give the New Zealand side confidence to push for a top six spot.
Theyre in a big fight for the finals, Postecoglou said.
They played well on the weekend against Perth and theyve got a bit of confidence, scored a few goals.
Were expecting a tough game, its always a tough game when we play Wellington but particularly at this stage in the year.
They made a good run at the title last year and I think theyll be looking to replicate that.
Itll be a tough one for us but its up to us and the way we perform that will be the key area.
History makes for pretty reading for Brisbane, Wellington have only picked up one point from a possible 15 in their last five matches on the road and have only found the back of the net on six occasions away from Westpac Stadium this season.
However, with finals getting closer and closer, coach Postecoglou made it clear nothing but a strong finish to Brisbanes stellar season would be acceptable.
There are a lot of things that are at stake at the moment, he said.
Thats the end of the season were at and three more points will get us closer to finishing in top spot which is obviously a goal of ours as well.
Its all good stuff but it all comes down to one thing - weve got to play well.
Thats all weve done all year and thats what weve done consistently for the last 26-odd games and thats what were looking for tomorrow night a good, consistent performance.
Tomorrow nights clash is also defender Luke DeVeres final appearance for Brisbane Roar, after the 21-year-old announced his departure for Korean K-League side Gyeongnam FC last week.
After three seasons with the Roar, Postecoglou hoped Brisbanes supporters would give DeVere a farewell fitting of his contribution to the club.
Hes been fantastic all year, hes been outstanding and he gets one final game to say goodbye to the fans, Postecoglou said.
Its a good way to finish, its always better to finish on the pitch doing what youve always done rather than just leaving anonymously during the week.
Hopefully the fans will give him a good send off and with a win, hopefully he goes off with a real positive experience from his time here in Brisbane.
