That tackle on Leo Bertos was disgraceful.  He should have been sent off.  I thought the referee had a reasonable game, but that was a clear red and the refs assistant was standing right there.  Because he was given a yellow card will the punishment end at that or can the FFA look back at it and hand down a suspension?

I certainly think they should but bare in mind it is the FFA and Griffiths got off for slapping the refs assistant in the ballsack.

That was just an awful tackle. I am almost disgusted that he was allowed to stay on the field after that.

it was not only a bad tackle but Im almost positively sure he intended to do that. what a freak. I hate that bastard. he has to get more. that was definetly intentional to take bertos out of the a-league this season. no doubt

I think cause it was dealt with on the field, thats the end of it, much like Griffiths nut punch.

Won't happen. They can not make a ruling if the ref has already dealt with it in the game. The ref gave him a card, so  FFA can't do anything more.

I would reluctantly condemn his actions if he played for the Phoenix.  Just ridiculously unnecessary.  And I can't understand why they'd want to take someone out, making them miss the season.  Losing a classy, lively player is only detrimental for the a-league of which they're all apart.

I was thinking about that as I posted. Bias of opinion is inevitable when it comes to most team sports, however on this occasion I think it is justified. Intentionally or not, Kruse went for the man, not the ball and could have bloody destroyed Bertos's career.

Dangerous.

I see him back for us next week. and if not, Adelaide.
And you can quote me on that if the headlines tomorrow are

They could but won't.  The Roar would make a big ruckus about it if they did.

If he played for the Phoenix I would have seriously had to re-consider my season membership.  That game proved everything I said right... he's a prancing, cheating, diving prima-donna and an obnoxious little cock.

Hope Vinnie has a little tick next to his name in his notebook for next time.

It appears you completely miss the very basics of what I was getting at.

Bertos may be OK now but it was reasonably clear that Kruse targeted the man and not the ball.  Tackles like that can easily injure players long-term, even break legs.  Regardless of the effect it had on Bertos, Kruse should be given an extra punishment.

It was a terrible tackle, and totally deliberate as well. The ball was long gone!

Kruse was utter garbage as well so I assume he was just frustrated that he was so sh**e!

Nah, they decided that the incident was seen by the ref during the game, and thereby deemed it outside of their jurisdiction.

I've never liked that little prick and today's given me two more reasons to hate him,

1. That tackle which he should have been sent off for, no question. Ref got that one badly wrong.

2. That stupid elastic band he wears round his head to keep his little pointy hobbit ears tucked in

R. Kruse = Twat
