Safe Smoke - Yours Please

Yo yo,

The club has asked whether we'd like the safe smoke buckets to be moved into the fever zone. At the moment they have been placed down pitch side.

Essentially the buckets would be placed on some kind of stand somewhere in the fever zone (either at the front or halfway up) and they would be let off by Phoenix staff members.

This is essentially what happens in most MLS clubs.

We're quite interested in the idea, but want to hear other people's thoughts given they can disrupt your view for a short period of time.

So yours please

Personally I'm not fussed either way.

I like the smoke in general, that and the fire has really added something to goal and win celebrations.  where it is set off doesn't concern me :)

Yeah I think having them up with us could be great and would definitely add to the atmosphere. If it's a possibility, I say go for it!

Go for it but would be much more fun if they gave us the switch.

Its fun when they release the smoke and then VAR overrules the goal.

I think it's best left on the field, if it's not organic, and fan controlled. This is as good an idea as a club employing people to sit in an active support  zone to lead chants

The ideal state has fans being in charge in the future. The club has given us the impression they'd like to see this too. But controlled smoke is a new concept so it needs to be slowly introduced. This is the next steps towards that ideal.

Zonznz, I'm sure the Club would make Material Safety Data Sheets available to all concerned fans. At my old work we imported safe and incredibly realistic smells, anything from cigarette smoke, blue cheese, rotting flesh, explosives.. They each came with MSDS and we're absolutely safe. Don't think they would contemplate moving them if this wasn't the case.

I'm all for it. Smoke often blocked the view when I was watching Roma, but a few minutes' reduced visibility was certainly offset by the enhanced atmosphere the smoke created.

Are they gluten free?

When down the front row with Micki it was fun. Some Asthmatics might not like it. But I am one and found it ok. That Phoenix flame is awesome.  Warms yku up when it gets cold late in the games.

Open to giving it a go. The smoke does disappear somewhat quickly and its got that nice firework smell to it. As an ex smoker im partial to a big of lung cancer inducing chemical concoctions anyway.

Trying to watch Marseille V Monaco right now and they have left off some serious smoke bombs in the Crowd. You can hardly see the game.

Yep. To be honest, I thought the smoke last Saturday added a lot to the great atmosphere. A million times better than that stupid "dance cam".

NEEDS more smoke!

I thought it was great, but I noticed that people around me weren't too keen on it, and I can understand why. Not everyone wants to get a face full of (all be it safe) smoke. Would it be possible to try and replicate the smoke machines at the entrance way that shoot it straight up, or even set it up higher even? Either way I would have it back!

Suspect it'll get tweaked it slightly and moved a little bit closer to the drum, so the people immediately around it are the ones who are more keen on it.

The yellow definitely seemed less intrusive than the black too so maybe we suggest that's a better choice for in the crowd.

Patrick's left arm is in a sling following his drum work on Saturday. We've advised him to skip work through to next Wednesday but he seems to have his priorities wrong.
