Season 1 repeating?

It strikes me as more than a bit uncanny that in season 1 we played some really good football but never got the points. When you look at the 4 games so far, we have dominated but we have 4 points to show for it when we should have a lot more.
- Is this season shaping to be a repeat of season 1?
- If Greenacre is the goal poacher then why hasn't he pinched a couple?
- Will this season be known as 'the one where the striker was never signed'?
- Will we regret not possibly trying a little harder with Memhut and Rigters when they were here on our doorstep first?
- Style vs Substance? People moan when we play rubbish and win but now we look good and are not winning...

Reminds me more of early in Season 3 where we were playing really well and making a whole lot of chances but just couldn't put them away. That all changed when we hit our straps and crushed Gold Coast. If we continue to play good positive football the finishing will come.

yeah guys relax a bit, there is plenty of footy to be played, we have looked good thus far and have dominated the Jets, easily matched the victory and only really looked like struggling against Perth - but that comes down to injuries and travel. Considering the players we have out due to injuries and unfortunate red cards we are doing ok. Ifill returns and things change dramtically.

This is our best equal start to the season and we still have Ifill to return.....yeah! bring it on!!!
I hope Ifill is fit soon too, and can stay fit for the season, but the team needs to get away from relying on the guy so heavily for scoring goals.
I just hope someone talks sense into WelNix and they sign some strikers by the mid-point of the season.

The options for signing a new striker is limited. If we want to keep Smith we would have to find an Aussie or Kiwi striker, Or we use a guest contract. By the time they gel with the team it will be time to go and if they do well, they will leave before the finals start.

7 pts gave us mid-table mediocrity and a lovely Billy Harris article
5 pts gave us the wooden spoon or a classic Chotey-Piney dialogue
But we've never got higher than 4th.

Football is a fickle game. After last night's loss this is now our 2nd worst ever start to the season.
And unless we get at least a point against Brisbane next week, this will become our worst ever start to a season (because we got a win in Round 6 of 08/09 to take us to 5 pts from 6 games).

My overfilled glass says once everyone is on board, fully fit and suspension free by season's end we ought to be at the business end of this season's comp.
I should point out,that same above-mentioned glass did contain copious amounts of unadulterated single malt whisky last night and the fact it talked to me should tell you how the evening progressed......!

So it's confirmed that this is our worst ever start to the season (equal with 08/09).
Doesn't really feel like it though. The team have actually played some good stuff and shown a lot of heart. If we can get over some injuries and maybe make a signing or two in January I'm sure we can make some progress up the league.
