As an after thought, making the YFZ PG rated also may been seen as a green light by some to take things too far.  I can just hear the excuse of "this is an over 16's area, if you don't like it F off to the family enclosure" and that to me is not what the YFZ is all about.
thats a rubbish idea, especially coming from you, the fever zone should be for all ages.

I suggest you read my posts in full, or ask Mummy to if I used some big words that you don't understand.

The point Tony P made was that there would be changes all over the stadium but some people on this thread have seen it as an attack on the Fever Zone by the Club.

As Football Mum quite rightly pointed out things can happen everywhere and that is why the Club will have made these changes.

Its for our own good people!!!

i hate the off season people end up having pointless arguments like this one.
if you buy a ticket in the fever zone sit there chant throw beer around do whatever.
if you don't like it go sit in the other 29,000 seats free.
pretty damn clear if you ask me.

dont know where I stand on this. I must say I don't like it as much when there is a bunch of young kids in our midst. Felt a bit like babysitting. It's nice to get a flow on of the same lads from the pub before hand. Just my opinion though.

One time one of them got knocked to the ground in the scrummage for Felipe's boot.

this is my whole point, this time it may have been a 15 yr old kid who can take the knocks, if the zone is open to all youths then some younger kid could get really hurt and that's gonna be really baaaad!!!

Yes and the poor lad ended up in Wellington Hospital with no feeling in his arms and leg for a few hours. He is lucky he doesnt have long term injury. We have sent him some signed stuff from Felipe as he recovers.

I have no issue with kids in the zone! unattendedkids/minors - whatever is not appropriate. I'm not the one making the call on the age, i initially mentioned under 14, if the club goes with under 16 then so be it. I personally would not allow my kids go into the zone with out me there, and I think most of us agree with that. The issue seems to be with the 15/16 yr olds who want to attend the games in the Zone without their parents? not my call, I could care less with what age the Zone is restricted to it doesn't affect me. But if the Zone is shut down because something happens, then I'll be most unhappy about it all.

This raises a very interesting point "shutting the zone".  What we all need to realise is that the zone is made up of characters and personalities not rows of seats, move the people from aisle 21 "the zone" into aisle 6 and where would you want to sit?

When the fever zone was first announced I was a little confused by it, I didn't see the need "construct" and area for a certain type of supporter, to be honest I thought it a bit naff.  Realistically though whether or not they'd called it the zone I'd have been drawn to those seats as the surrounding supporters are my "type" of supporters.

When in the UK and traveling to away games (normally no allocated seating) the fist thing me and my mates did was look for the usual suspects, the fans that we didn't know by name but knew were vocal and supported the team in the same way we did.

What Im trying to say is that going into the second season Im not sure having an official zone is necessary and if it gets over policed then Im sure people will move else where en-mass.

There are two important words in the Yellow Fever Zone and zone isnt one of them, if a 14 year old wants to join the YF then good on him/her.  If they dont like it theyll sit somewhere else the following week.

seeing everyone is chucking their 2c in, what the hell.......

1) Unattended "minors" in the YF zone = no
2) Attended "minors" = yes
3) Chanting with/without swearwords = hell yes and as loud as you can please vicar!
4) Idiots throwing beer = no (why do people thing that deliberately throwing (and wasting!) beer is OK? I know we have topics on this so no flaming, sheesh)

Theoretically minors are minors for a reason, they are still primarily their parent's responsibility. If the parent is there to monitor and agree that the ever-changing environment iS fit for their kids then fine. Yeah, yeah "15 year old's are really grown up these days" blah blah. True, some may be, but looking around the streets these days you could fool me! I'm pretty sure they're as stupid and irresponsible as most of us were at that age.

and here endeth the lesson.

PS: I reserve the right to change my point of view at any stage prior to my 5 year old and 2 year old boys reaching 20........

Question 1:  You're 14 years old (doubt you can rmember that far back ) and you're allowed to go to a game on your own, where would you want to sit?
Question 2:  Regardless of what your parents said (remembering they're not with you) when you get to the ticket booth, which aisle would you ask for your ticket in?

Answer 1:  Aisle 21 - I also want to drink, shag tall leggy models, drive, own an M16, not tidy my room and pierce my knob-end.  Doesn't necessarily mean I should be allowed to though.

Answer 2:  If you are a minor on your own then unfortunately it is hoped/expected that someone (or some organisation) should put boundaries in place to mitigate your stupidity.

Do I generalise about the lack of foresight, empathy and control shown by young people? Of course I do.  Unfortunately rules made by organisations/governments have to make them to  take the lowest common denominator into account.  We've all seen it in some of the laws passed recently.

take your own advice. "were here to watch the football"

you guys need to have 8 pages arguing over this? theres 1000 free seats up the back of the zone and theres 20,000 other seats free. let whoever come in if they do something wrong they'll get kicked out. if they don't like it they will move. end of story.

Personally I'm all for a 'look after yourself' approach to where you sit.  Things will work themselves out.

That said, I can understand the clubs worries.

However can I just point out that the poor kid who got hurt wasn't hurt because he was in the Zone, he was hurt because someone thought it was a good idea to throw his boots into the crowd, which caused two melees (one for each foot) and was always going to cause havoc.

It's great that he wanted to show his thanks to the fans and I wouldn't have him NOT throw his boots in, but if the club has now decided it's the Zone's FAULT he got hurt then someone needs their head rewiring.

im saying theres 10,000 ppl at the stadium and 30,000 seats hence theres 20,000 seats free. 1000 seats free in zone/20000 in the stadium

That's not their call - it's parental choice. So am I going to have to pay adult prices for my 14 year old - who will be 15 before next season? She will not be happy if I tell her she can't go in the zone.
[Edit - Just read Tony P's reply... phew. Whilst I would let my daughter go in the zone unaccompanied, it ain't gonna happen... cos I don't miss games!]

There is a huge difference between, say, 14 and 5 years of age. The zone is PG. It is not R18.
