Wednesday, at about 11 25 am Tony mentions a deal which allows out of towners to still hold a season ticket, even if it means just 1 game a season, and it entitles you to all the bells and whistles.

That is f**king fantastic

Im stoked.

The benefits of Membership for OOT's who can't attend every, or sometimes any, games... but gives them the opportunity to buy-in to the team they support, as well as membership benefits if and when they can attend games. AFL teams do it very successfully.

It's a bloody great concept when executed effectively (NRL are trying to do it also but they're making a bit of a balls-up of it lol)

Ohh ok, so they pay a bit less for a game (or more)they want to attend? Or do they wind up paying more with it being a season ticket as such, and attending less games?

And the regular email updates each week etc etc?

Cant get my head round how it works  new concept to me

The concept is that when you sign for this membership you will get all the benefits of being a member plus you get to decide which home game you want to attend during the season. You need to do this when signing up. A hard copy ticket will be sent to you. It is a way of supporting the phoenix and being a member even though you cant come to all the games. We will be offering a similar package to overseas members without a ticket option if they dont want a ticket. They can sit in their lounge and watch the game on Fox/Sky with a scarf around the neck chanting.  More info will be released soon.

I think it's a good idea

I got down to quite a few games last season and have been considering buying a season-ticket for this year. Anything that helps out-of-town Nix fans like me feel a bit more like part of the 'family' is alright in my book.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

i like the idea of a season ticket, but i never know week to week how many of my friends are coming to wellington with me.if i got a season ticket i would be stuck in my seat for the season and would not be able to hang with my mates at the gamesholeinone2008-05-15 11:31:55

I like the idea of a "half-season" ticket, or a ticket covering X amount of games, but it would be a logistical nightmare to organise and couldn't be done till the season had started and all season tickets had been allocated. That would suit out-of-towners who could only get to so many games each season. As I said, from a practical point of view, it's probably not a realistic option.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

This wont just help "out of towners"

I have the same problem but I live in Wellington. I will now be able to become a memeber (Yahoo)and just buy however many tickets I need for each game so I can sit with the people I bring along.

No you dont. We will also be offering members the opportunity to buy seats for friends/family in a non reserved section and the members can sit there as well. This is to allow those games when you want the opportunity to take others with you to a game .The option to buy the extra seats in this section is only for members.

No decision yet on paying for my flights down to the games then, Tony?

So would the season ticket cover how many games we want a season? As I plan on coming down for at least half the home games.

I think any out of towner who is truly dedicated to the 'Nix would simply relocate to Welly.

Worked for me!

Yeah, but I'm so dedicated to the Nix that I relocated out of Wellington so that I could spend more money travelling down to see them.....

I'm not. I'm in Pukekohe, which is kind of to the east of Adelaide. I think.
