season ticket holders buying their seat for finals

Should season ticket holders have the opportunity to purchase their season ticket seat for games when the season has been completed - i.e for the games against Perth and Newcastle.

I, for one, haven't been allowed to because for health and personal, reasons I choose to sit on the western sided of the stadium. For both games I have not been allowed to purchase my season ticket seat either on the member day or later in the week.

I have sat in the same seat area for the entire season and yet despite being a season ticket holder since day one I lose my seat to someone who is more than likely just there for the occasion.

Surely ticket holders should be rewarded for their faithful support of the Phoenix!!!!

Dude,we got 2 days of being able to buy tickets (up to 8) before they went on public sale. Pretty damn good if you ask me (even if ticketek did stuff it up first time round). Being able to get your own seat wouldve been nice, but a bit of a logistical nightmare.

Main difference being that the club organises your regular season ticket seat, but becuase the FFA organise the Finals' games, they handled seating.

It's been a b.tch here for some years now. Best thing to do is to get in early and tell your local ticketing agency "I want seats at (Location X)". They'll do their best to get you close to your regular area.

But again I stress, that this concern is not new, and down to the fact that the finals' games are organised by a different 'promoter' as such.

Hope that helps.

Did you phone to speak to them and were you able to get in the same general area?

Why? (logstical nightmare?)

Made no odds to me but I can't see what would be so hard in providing seat numbers to season pass members that were the same.

(apologies if this has been covered in earlier freds)

I'm not sure how difficult it could be? All the seats are on screen at Ticketek so surely if a season ticket holder went in with their season ticket and requested their seat, it wouldn't be that hard to find on the system?

Only in that first 2 days I mean.

I think the way they did it,it would have been. With us being able to buy up to 4 one day, then up to 8 the next, and then having to reserve season ticket seats, wouldve been impossible.

Seemed a choice between 2 things.
a) first day being season members buying their seats and their seats only (if want to go with more mates, would have to try luck in public sales)
b) the way they did it.

I liked option B for this occasion. And was probably smart in getting momentum going for a sell out, with season members bringing friends etc.

And yes my understanding is people could have done this if they do wished. As long as their seat wasnt already sold obviously.

Yer but it would be hard if you wanted to bring extra friends.  Just about impossible to get your seat, and then 3 or 4 mates sitting next to you without them sitting in another member's seat.

But Samndjo's point was that he couldn't get seats on the west side as they weren't released until later in the week (with no guarantee of getting his seats).

That's true, but if you're only going to be going with the people you normally go with, then it wouldn't be any problem.

I think you should have been given the option of your own seat, if you wanted it.

I stand corrected if true...it's not that difficult then

I am a season ticket holder, but I wasn't able to make sure I was able to attend Sunday's game until yesterday. There weren't many seats left but I knew that when I didn't buy my tickets during the members purchase period...thing.

I am relieved that I got a ticket at all. Can't wait to sit all on my lonesome to watch a football game again

Seemed easy to me (but lucky that i could)

Monday - line up at 08:55 at ticketek, walk in the door, hand over my two season ticket cards, say "i'll have these seats please", get season ticket seats for both of the finals games we've had/are having, sorted!

As i said though,  I was lucky I could skive off work for the first hour :)

Im not a complete idiot, some parts are missing!

Well I rang up about 10 on the 1st day only to be told that the whole block in the area I usually sit had been block booked (I was told later that it was supposedly the club itself that blocked out the seats but it may have been the FFA).

So even trying to get your normal seats during that 1st 2 days was not possible for some of us. If its true that the seats were blocked out by the club or the FFA its pretty poor service for us season ticket holders

As i said, had to be one or the other. Cant please everybody. I think this way was best,it let us buy extra tickets on top of what we normally had so that we could go with a group of mates etc. For most people it was also very possible to get their own season ticket seats. Though does suck for you,but to generalise that to poor service to all season ticket holders is a bit untrue.

missed my seats by about an hour it seems, no majoprs I am sitting right next to them so I can ask the current purchasers if they like my seats...no majors I'm at the game so I don't care.

The response I have had from Ticketek both times is that the west side is not open at the start of the week. Even with my season ticket on me I couldn't get a seat on the west side by visiting Ticketek or through the phone lines. This to me was quite disappointing. I wonder if anyone from the Phoenix organisation will have a shot at replying. I have sent them 2 emails but am still waiting for a reply.

The main point I am trying to get across is that season ticket holders should have the option to purchase their season ticket seat regardless of where it is in the stadium. I only required one seat and would happily have paid the extra dollars if it had ended up being in the gold section on the west side. Everyone knew that this was going to be a popular game so the option of sitting on the west side should always have been available.

It is obviously too late for this game now but did u ever go to the Nix shop? They seem to take a more football focused approach than some of the 'ordinary'  Ticketek outlets?? But then again I guess its a question of whether they would have had your seats to release in the first place ... sounds to me as if you got a rough deal ...

While I think exact seating allocation isn't as important as allowing season members rights to buy seating blocks, I can sympathise partially. If you've got a good reason then you should be able to get your seat in at least the same area, even if not the exact seat. Did you manage to get a ticket there in the end?
