Melbourne used to regularly sell out games at Olympic Park.
Three for me, and two for them.

Melbourne Victory sold out Olympic Park several times in the first two seasons of the A-League.

Hmmm, I was there - I think it was very close but not quite.
A-League Finals Series Attendance: 41,689 (vs Central Coast Mariners 5 March 2006)
Current stadium capacity is 45.5k - Although there was a expansion of the stadium since that final
Anyway - Olympic Park only holds 18.5K - not that difficult to sellout for Melbourne

There were scalpers for that match, the match definitely sold out.

Its seating capacity was 41,159, but today stands at 45,500, although the venue's official record attendance for a sporting event stands at 43,967, for the 1994 FIFA World Cup Qualifier when Australia played Argentina.

Sorry but what are A-League games doing being played at Etihad?
And is this something that happens on an intermittent basis?
Jeez sorry I thought Etihad was a place in the Emirates

They started at Olympic Park but outgrew it and moved to Etitard.
They now have a new stadium being built for them and the Storm and will leave Etitard except for really big games.

That's ridiculous. Whoever heard of a stadium within a stadium?

18.5k is still a pretty awesome amount considering it was only season 2

I think the MH are playing at that stadium too. You'd think there'd be clashes if Victory Heart and Strorm are all playing at the same ground.

NRL season doesn't clash with the A-League season, so that's not a problem. Between the two teams it's about one match a week so that shouldn't be too much of a problem either. Maybe you'll get Victory playing Friday and Heart playing Sunday every now and then, but I imagine it'd be Heart at home when Victory are away and vice versa. She'll be right.

Speaking of those two traitors.....Smeltzy's loyalty is about as deep as his wifes shopping list...heavily rumoured to be off to eat kim chee in Korea.
As for Moss.....sitting on his ass getting splinters at Melb. Wonder if he thinks " geez i should have stayed at the Nix" especially seeing how things are going off here now. He's only 26. if we don't get reddy next year he can come back in a couple of years when Paston retires.

I think you mean the 2006/07 GF b/w Melb and Adelaide here.
General tickets were sold out and if any seats were remaining it was from the 'stadium members' section, who pay for a seat there all year regardless of the event.
Standing room tickets were sold for ths game such was the demand.

I'm going to be nice to you here Hack (despite the fact you had a go at me on the Victory forum tonight).
Melb vs Sydney in September 2005 was season ONE. That got 18,500 or near as dammit to it.
LIke I said, I'm going to be nice to you.

When has the Westpac Sold out for rugby in the last 5 years - the only time I can think of is the Lions test in 2005. IIRC no ABs test at Westpac has sold out since (why do they bother with the extra seats then)
Could it be that the only sell-outs for sports at Westpac in the last 5 years is for football games?

What is it with Kiwi Crowds at the moment? Everyone, no matter what the sport seems keen to get out and support their team.
Nix - 25k and 35k in Wellington, 20k in Ch-Ch
Warriors - 17k to a trial game at North Harbour
Black Caps - 21k in Wellington, 26k in Ch-Ch, Eden Park sold out for the next game (i know reduced seating), expecting 10-12k for Napier today
25k - Crusaders v Highlanders (not sure about other rugger games)
It;s all good...
