Rumour has it that Ben Sigmund has put pen to paper.

If so I think it's great to get a quality kiwi player on board.

Sigmund could be a top defender, I've always reckoned he'd be a great signing for the Phoenix. But obviously just rumours at this stage.

He was talking with the Phoenix crew that were at Waitak on Wednesday.

Three for me, and two for them.

If you sign Sigmund you'll have 21 players, then a further striker (Porter or such) will make it 22 and thus completed with the spare slot for Ricki in case he needs it (as per previous indications).

Next season Champioship promotion, season after Champions league qualification. You heard it first from me!

Think it'll be more accurate to say that QPR may have the richest owners in the world, LG. As they aint pumping every penny they've got into the club it's debatable whether they can actually claim to be the richest club in the world. Good luck with the world domination tho'!

Sorry tigers, back on topic. Siggy would be a good signing for us, this one's been hovering about for a while so it'll be great if he's finally signed.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Mixed feelings about this. Love Siggy to bits at City but he deserves to go to a higher level. Been a standout in the NZFC this year, no doubt about it.

Three for me, and two for them.

Since Auckland city missed out on the O-league, I say it becomes a much easier choice for him.

is his contract like nathan burns contract?

Will he get much game time though?

Maybe he would be better off looking to go to a championship, or League 1 team. Didn't  a couple scouts approach him after the Wales game?

At the Nix he'll be behind Durante, McKain and Dodd for CB.

Well he's better than Dodd for a start.

An "approach" is a term that's thrown around a lot in football, but what is it? Really. Is it much more than  sounding out of a player's current status and getting his manager's contact details?

That's easy to do. And can mean diddly-squat!

I'm sure some players could fill up a book with all the "approaches" they're had and then fit on a "sticky note" the "approaches" that lead to even a follow up conversation.

Or is that too cynical?

If he is gauranteed to get a decent amount of gametime then it would be brilliant to have him, he is a quality defender.  However, if he is only going to be getting the odd game here and there then he should try to get a contract with another a-league team.  There's no point in his talent being put to waste by having him bench-warming.

Has anyone actually seen McKain play to make them believe he is so much better than say Siggie for example?

Three for me, and two for them.
