Signing rumours

I'm afraid new of signing Steven Old does not excite me one bit. I have never seen him play well yet.

Not to mention the Steven Old/O'Dor confusion that will inevitably result, leading to lazy commentators and journalists naming the wrong man every time.

There's an Old O'Dor over there - over there.

Apologies for stating the obvious.

The Sunday News reported today that letters of intent have been sent to many of the All Whites to secure them while contracts are being drawn up by lawyers, targeted players were the following: Glen Moss, Mark Paston, Noah Hickey, Steven Old, Danny Hay, Jarrod Smith, David Mulligan, Ivan Vicelich, Andy Barron, Leo Bertos, Jeremy Brockie, Shane Smeltz, Jeremy Christie, and Tim Brown.
However, nothing solid was reported but I guess this gives us idea of who they specifically want. A question mark hangs over a couple of them but most seem certain to sign.

As for the club CEO, Seropisos was reported to be is chasing the signature of his friend Phil Alexander (current Crystal Palace CEO) who is in Wellington at the mo for the Miramar centinnial and apparently the deal is almost done. Phil sounds like he has the credentials and has been in charge of Crystal Palace since 1998 and has helped rebuild the club which gained promotion to the PL in 2004, all be it breifly, and he has a rep as someone who can attract dollars to a club.

Old, Hay and Plodder

Terry should be checking what Ricki is spending his money on, although it is the Sunday Malcomson...

He was at the first half of the Bankstown vs APIA match.  Guess he might be lining up Blacktown today as well.

Hmmmm given our less than stellar fortune with players from NSW (Imaya, Rose, MacGuire) I wonder whether the Victorian Premier League would be a better option for scouting (Salley, D'Or)

The thought did cross my mind Mossman.

There are effectively 3 sides scouting the NSWPL (Mariners, Newcastle - van Egmond coached there last year) and the Blingers.  Mainly Melbourne chasing the VPL and picking up players like Vargas.

I hope any interest in Blacktown is to see Adrian Webster play.

Roodenburg would be worth a look.

And Necevski.

Not to mention Ozbey.

Leo carle is there too.

But hopefully he was going to look at Chi Chi.
