Yep, our ours eyes lit up when we saw the stand. My CHC bro reckons they have traces of cocaine, as they are so addictive.

E.P has had fritz weiners at least as long as I've worked there (August 5 2013)

Fuck this stupid game

Have they always been 8 dollars?

Counted 40 odd places to buy beer (no drinking culture in NZ!), two for coffee and they had limited staff. The line for coffee was at least 50 deep. Had my old dad with me who didn't want to drink. When you have to sit in a stadium on a winters day for multiple hours a hot drink helps especially for the older punters.

I am surprised even on nore match days that there isnt a coffee booth.

Today's match we departed from our usual and chose the Pascall "Lolly Scramble" pack.  At $2 on special (either Countdown or New World) is is a tad more expensive then the "Party Pack" on a per gram basis (200 g and 220 g prespectively).  Also there are more wrappers to dispose of later when emptying your pockets.

The Lolly Scramble has pretty much a selection for everyone's taste (fruit bursts, milk shakes, toffees, minties), while the Party Pack contains a wider range including snakes, blackberry gums and jelly beans.

For the next match I think we will stick with the Lolly Scramble.

Unless it is full retail in which case we will see what else is on special.

As this was a double header we lived dangerously and had two, yes TWO packets.

1) Party Pack - not Lolly Scramble as there was an extra 20 g in the pack.  Great value for money.

2) Pineapple Lumps.  A bit of a treat as these are only 140 g.  But hey - this is a unique event and unlikely to happen again.

Had a horrible low alcohol beer that tasted so sickly sweet...left half of it.

You've got to cut the coffee people some slack though, you can't really have more than two people to a machine and there isn't a cafe anywhere that can deal with the kind of volume those guys get at half time.

Agreed they just need more of them, two more would have cut the lines in half and I was comparing to alcohol stalls 40. I don't think 4 coffee places versus 40 beer is to much to ask

Permalink Permalink

Yeah totally. The stadium should definitely invest in more espresso machines.

A bunch of people got to sample the food in the mezzanine bar on Sunday.

What do people think of:

The vegetarian bean burrito

The chicken schnitzel burger

The Italian meatballs and pasta

The nasi goreng

The sushi

the filled rol baguettes

the mushrooms

And what do people think of the pulled pork or beef baquettes from the bbq near the entrance to the mezzanine bar?

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

First time we have been up to mezzanine bar and I got a Chicken Snitzel Burger ...thought it was decent..certainly better than the very average fare dished up downstairs! My mates had a selection of the other stuff and all were impressed...We will definitely be back especially as they are pricing the beers more expensive in the foundation members lounge

I would just like to say that our Lolly Scramble packet was particularly naff last Sunday.  Too many minties.

Party Pack next time (something squishy to chew on would be nice).

Being of a strict pescetarian diet i still think their food is, and forever will be, utter sharke.

I got the pulled pork downstairs - was pretty decent, but the only reason I got it was because the line at Fritzs Weiners was so long and no one was at the pulled pork - I had to wonder why.

Does it involve Pulled Pork or a Wiener?

I came across this as I was reading the German sports news.

Currently injured HSV Hamburg player Maximilian Beister has used his spare time well and with the help of two of his mates came up with the "SnaxCup."

Basically it's like a plate which is then stuck on top of your drink, with the straw sticking out at the top.

So you have your drink and food all in one hand, pretty handy. The club will test this product at the stadium restaurant over the next few months.

No you can. It is possible. I think you are getting more at the logistics and technicalities of doing so.

It is unethical , i think is what he is trying to say.

Ok let's stick to the SnaxCup, which only works with Fizzy Drink in it.

Beer would have to be bought seperately then.

Ok, I have been keen lately to tell people how stadium food has improved – wider options, mezzanine etc.

But yesterdays performance at aisle 25 was diabolical.

Did no-one tell them it was kids go freeday, so they might sell some chips?
Is it impossible for them to cook some chips during the first half and line themup under the heater to sell?

I queued for the entire half time and thenfor the first 15 mins of second half. For most of the time the staff were staring backwards waiting for something to arrive.

The queue was not THAT long – they just never served anyone!

When I finally got to the counter they said there was a long wait for chips and they had no burgers.

I would certainly not have bothered but as the young kids were expecting chips, I stood it out.

It doesn’t encourage me to take kids infuture. For myself , I wouldn’t bother at half time, too much risk of missing game time.

Last week they ran out of tomato sauce, how is this possible?

hopefully spotless will eventually be a thing of the past. Until then, I think you're better off going to other vendors.

Can't excuse the poor effort with the lines and chips but I can tell you the t-sauce situation was down to suppliers.
