You're wrong.

Actually I'm not but I won't bother arguing. I suspect your rose coloured glasses view of the world differs significantly with my cynical view. Oh to have the innocence and blissful naivity of youth.....

Actually you are, and I certainly don't have the naivety of youth..

OK, I'll bite - tell me exactly how I'm wrong. Try and be factual in doing so too please. Forget all the knee-jerk liberal dribble and tell me how the Australian legal system doesn't allow a person to test these bans in Court or in any other legislative forum.

NP - You have made it reasonably clear that you disagree with the viewpoints of various other members on this topic. You have answered the question that was asked in the original post by Bevan. That's your opinion, & you are entitled to it. You are dismissing hearsay as an acceptable reason for proving a point, but the FFA refuse to provide any evidence of guilt, we are just expected to take their word for it. Surely by anyones definition, this is HEARSAY.

Why not let the people that want to show their support for SOME of the banned fans & their contempt for the FFA in whatever way they see fit.

This is the problem, even if overturn in court this was their view point before the protests. The view does appear to be changing now, but this notice was tabled at the Senate’s hearing early this year bythe WSW had about Police problems.

"Please be advised that Football Federation Australia (FFA) is not a government agency and, as such, the obligation to adhere to the rules of procedural fairness and natural justice does not apply to our organisation. For this reason, FFA will not consider any appeal.”

After the inquiry, de Bohun was quoted as saying: “It’s a general deterrent to those who cause trouble that they face long bans with no right of appeal.”

With due respect mate I think you've missed the point of just why people are standing in solidarity and why the issue lies with the FFA.  Brandon's comment several comments above is a pretty good place to start.

You know what my real issue is? that the lunatics are starting to run the asylum. It appears that the new elite of YF and their supporters are trying to turn YF into some sort of pseudo political party and are trying to move the group away from the original concept of a group of football supporters of the Phoenix. I have no problem with you having whatever set of views/standards/ethics you choose to have but please have some respect for those that don't wish to have us take a stand on every issue of the day or wish to have others social or political views rammed down our throats at every opportunity. Don't turn this group into something wider than it should be please.

Yesterday, underneath a flare,
I met a fan who was not there.
He was not there again today,
He's now been banned by the FFA.

Da fuq?  That escalated quickly.  Not quite sure where you're headed with that mate.  My guess would be that most members of the so-called "YF elite" wouldn't know me from Adam if they ran into me on the street.

As far as I know, apart from Supporting the Nix, the YF has only recently taken a stand on Saving the Nix and now wanting to take a stand on this. I'd hardly call that a stand on every issue and in fact most of the time YF stays out of the other clubs/supporter problems. This FFA one does have wider implications though I admit it doesn't affect myself or anyone in YF personally since none of us have got bans. Its more about how poorly run/managed the FFA are.

Or its just people wanting to show support like we were shown support when we had our licence denied.

I'm sure with all of those banners they had people saying to not challenge the FFA.  But they went ahead and showed their support for what they think is right.  Just like people are suggesting here.

You are welcome to go down to the same game and take a banner stating "I don't believe anything anyone says without evidence, unless its the FFA" or whatever you want.

Exactly, and there are plenty of people in plenty of fan groups who either don't want the nix in the competition or are indifferent, yet they came out and supported us for the betterment of the league. Whatever NP thinks about the fairness of bans you should be of the opinion that the FFA need to treat supporters better, and that includes us. The fact is that they don't even consider the supporters as stakeholders in the competition.

A united message from all the fan groups saying that we matter is what is happening across the competition, all people want is to be treated with respect and fairness. The FFA  do things a certain way, and that way is ruining the competition, maybe if they try and treat people with respect, and that includes not just fan groups but also club owners, they will find that things improve.

The other thing is that NP is clearly in the minority on this.
