NEWS FLASH ...
 
SYDNEY March 13 2010 - Wellington's Yellow Army Battalion, under the command of Major General Ricki Herbert, has commenced its invasion of the large island to the west of New Zealand.
 
Major General Herbert said an advance party had already been assigned to plant the Yellow Army's banners at strategic points around inhabited areas of the island in order that the local populace would be aware that the invasion was underway.
 
"We will commence the final stages of our mission under cover of darkness, at 10pm tonight," Major General Herbert told Defence News Today.
 
"Because of operational issues, I am unable to reveal more about the final deployment  of my troops, however I can assure you that we will assume a strong attacking formation."

If Sydney's anything like Melbourne it'll mean that people will have to pour their own beers and make their own coffees tonight, 'cause every kiwi should be at the game.

So I'm pretty broke, but mainly because I'm heading off to Melbourne for the Grand Prix in the last week of March.

But... I have just got permission (through extreme begging) from the missus, that should.. when... we beat Sydney tonight, I can go over a week early to watch the Phoenix and then stay over for the GP.

But clearly I'm not watching tonight's game on my own or in my house. I assume that the Four Kings is the expected destination for most Phoenix fans tonight? I need some atmosphere. And beer.

The Charles Dickens Tavern will probably be showing it. Probably not many other pubs will, as it's the AFL's pre-season GF tonight.

There's another Rebel Sport at street level at the Broadway Shopping Centre (about 10 mins walk along Broadway from Central Station)

I'm hoping to, I do have a stag do tonight which we're trying to time to get to the 4Ks in time for ko, one wit already asked 'Does Mermaids have Sky Sports!?'.

It might be the Cambridge though for the game. Added to that I'm on-call (first born arrival watch), so I'll need to stay sober as well :(

It's an epic tifo, but it's not specifically game related.

I would actually think that those at your end who have followed Aus football may well applaud, such is the subject matter. But we'll see.

Going to be a great game hopefully. It's been a decent finals series for football, a cracking PF would top it off (since teh GF will be cagey as f**k no matter who makes it).
