Press reports seems to confirm 2 home games wil be played 'away' from Wellington - Chch a certainty and the second yet to be decided - possibly Auckland.
I thought we were going to be focussed on being the most competitive club we can be. We have a home ground that the players are familiar with to the point we get an advantage through these reasons and the great fan support hence we get good results.
Why oh why take it outside of that home advantage and risk losing points - we all see how tight this league is and any points lost could be costly to making playoffs.
As a Nix paid up supporter since year 1 I am not in favour of it. Take pre-season games there, there is cheap flights to Wellie so people can come and see the advantage the Nix get playing at their real home - keep it that way.

It will almost certainly go to auckland. And if they cant do better than 20,000 that should be the end of it.

"We're the only New Zealand team in the A-League and need to travel around the country." - Tony P
Do we?
Not happy but seems like such things will go ahead despite what us fans in Wellington think.

What thread?
If we go to Auckland will we have to cross Bluemagic and HappyTed's patch like in the Film The Warriors to get to the match?
I reckon their gang would be similar to the Lizzies

i think its a great idea. anybody think that this idea would possibly help us in our war against the afc aswell?

I identify with this club because it is in my home town, not a travelling circus or a 'New Zealand' team playing solely out of Auckland. I never identified with the Knights and I don't identify with the Warriors because they fall into the latter category.

In fact it will probably do just the opposite.

I didn't mind the CHCH game but unless the club want to pay the travel expenses for season ticket holders then they should abvandon this idea. Preseason friendlies I do not mind. But to double jepardy those whom have coughed up good money in advance is not cool. Not everyone is on a hight wage.
We are the WELLINGTON PHOENIX, NOT The New Zealand Phoenix. If other cities like Auckland want A League football, let them form their own club with responsible financial management And in reflection, the same applies to CHCH. If they can support their local football then good luck to them.
CHCH was a gimmick that worked. Palmerston North was a Gimmick that failed!
Perhaps if the club don't want to finance season ticker holders to travel, then they can refund season ticket holders whom dont travel.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Auckland don't 'deserve' a game but if Auckland ( like Chch) can put some money back in Terry pockets, whos to deny him ( except the selfish ).
When Welly start making money for Terry they'll have a right to whinge, but untill then, stfu.
If I were to invest $10,000,000 odd of my money I would be looking for a return at some stage.
Sooner rather than latter.
Season ticket options should include home games less the 'home away' games or all games with free or subsidised transport for those who take on the' complete package.
Certainly the club should look at any way possible to get as many welly based fans to 'home away' games as they sell the game even more so than the players. Chch is a good example.
