I find it pretty hard to believe Felipe was dropped on form. I mean one bad game...
The midfield of Lia, Brown, Johnsen,Daniel and Elrich did a very good job. Defence was still shakey and lethargic at times. But a clean sheet is a clean sheet.
My team for next week would be:

---------------------------------------------------Moss------------------------------------------------------------

Christie----------------------------O'Dor------------------Dodd------------------------------------Lochhead

Elrich------------------------------Brown-----------------Johnsen------------------------------------Daniel

-------------------------------------Smeltz----------------Coveny-------------------------------------------

Subs: Spoonley,Lia,Ferrante,Felipe.

I think Aloisi should find it hard getting back in the team based on the fact that the midfield looked far better without him.

What do u guys think?

I dunno if Ricki would drop Lia after that performance, doubt it, mind you Covs did very well coming on too. I think he'll stick with the same as last week.

Yeah i guess dont change a winning team!! I think with elrich getting fitter we are going to see the best of him really soon so i would be happy with the same team! but definetely think felipe should be on the bench. (maybe by benching him they are trying to reduce his value so they can sign him for next season)

I think if we hadn't gone ahead, Felipe would have been on to try and snaffle a goal, but we did and then the plan changed. Hopefully we won't need him this week either!!

yeh Ben interesting, I dunno whether Johnno would do it, he certainly popped up in the defence to save us a couple of times, but would he be better than ODor? Yeh interesting.

He's definetly worth a try for me. He can't be much worse can he? Something needs to be done to sort that defence out, if its not new signings then you have to look to players we already have. Johnson's naturally a DM, I don't know whether he's played at CB before but I believe he'd be pretty decent. He's not the player I can see having a 'bad game'. He's too consistent and experienced.

Worth a go in my book.

Still think that's too attacking for an away game. The best chance we have to get points away from home is to keep things tight, and with our shaky defence we need the three man centre midfield to help them out. I'm also undecided on Lia - he puts himself about and gets into good positions, but his tackling technique is awful and he'll get sent off sooner or later if he keeps going like that. His short passing game could improve too. So next week I'd have:

                   Moss

Christie     Dodd        O'Dor     Lochead

      Johnson      Brown       Aloisi

Elrich                             Daniel

                   Smeltz

Subs: Paston (if available), Lia, Felipe, Coveny.el grapadura2007-11-04 22:10:05

Having two keepers is a novel idea!

He wasn't on the bench. The bench last week was Spoonley, Covs, Brownlie and Old.

I'd go for same team, i think you have to reward the lads who picked up 3 points, and a bit of consistency will aid player awareness/anticipation of each other

the bench might need to be stacked with players who need a few minutes prior to the all whites-depleted sydney game

I certainly wouldn't start with Coveny in Queensland (notwithstanding we went to school together!).  The heat up there means we need the younger, fitter players to start.  If necessary, as in Perth, Coveny could come on with 20 to go.  Given the result last week I think the starting 11 deserve another go.

I'd start with the same team as last week, certainly wouldn't drop Lia as some are suggesting. Coveny's a good option to bring on late in the game.

My big worry is O'Dor's hooter. Ever since he broke it, he seems to be getting it re-busted during every game. Worried he's gonna need a game or two off to let it heal properly, then we'll be in the s**t.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Isn't O'Dor having his wisdom teeth out this week? Oh the pain! Shouldn't stop him playing on the weekend.

O'Dor is quite a big possibility of not playing. Steven old is leading the chase to replace him....oh the joy.

Whats the injury update on Clebo?
Ricki keeps telling him he's injured

Hope Aloisi sits this one out, the midfield looked  a lot sharper withought him to be honest  and hopefully missing a couple of games might help him find his form again, he has looked woefully behind the pace the last two or three games he has played in and whether its injury or just lack of fitness/form im sure the team and the player will benefit long term if he misses out on  first team football for a couple of weeks!

The answer to life's problems are rarely found at the bottom of a beer glass - but it's always worth a look.

Ricki has said O'Dor is injured hasnt he? If so, why are people putting him in their team (not that you dont do this every week)

---------------------Mossy
----Christie-----Johnson-------Doddy----------Dr Lochead

----------------------Brown
---------Elrich--------------------Daniel

-------------------Filipe
-----------------------------Smeltzy

An attacking formation. Filipe should at least make the bench but hopefully starts. Johnson looked good Fri night and good replacement for O'Dour who keeps getting knocks to the nose. Brown bceause he's on form.

subs- Aloisi, Costa Babourous (can't spell), Lia, Old.
we don't need a reserve goalie. Moss is tough

Plodder----Jono----Brownlie-----Felippe

-----------------Smeltz-------------------

-------------Old--------Lochead------------

If everyone doesn't get mocked for playing people out of position ("I've seen Johnson make a tackle, he can play centre back....") I don't see why I should.

I'd have gone for Brownlie in goal and George at centre-back 'cos I'm sure I saw George head the ball once

Yea i kinda forgot Lia in the midfield, but playing with 10 might not be a bad thing. The Victory picked up there game with just ten against CCM

they get mocked alright and offered some advice about the difference between championship manager and real football (they seem shocked that there is a difference) but they really don't seem to care how naff their ideas are

i just take another blood pressure pill   and move hopefully to the next post

I seriously don't see whats wrong with giving Johnson a go at centre back though...?

Because we've never seen him play there, why would you make a change to play someone who last week had a quality game in midfield in to a position he has never played (or certainly not in 3 years of the A-League) ?

Change for the sake of change is foolish.

Just before i decide what i think of your team FM,Am I reading it correctly you have suggested we play both Old and Lockhead in goal, with George up front on his own.

I'd have the same team as last week but Felipe on the bench instead of Brownlie. Though if O'Dor is out Old will have to come in and Clebs on the bench.

And we've been over the whole players playing out position thing in every damn 'team for next week' thread this year. Stop it please.

Check the replies,  Is it because they are young HN?, they just don't seem to get it!!!   aaarrrrghhh!!!!

I can understand 'da youfs' having dodgy taste in music that's their role in life, but have we failed to bring them up right??? how hard can it be to understand - in proper teams (not capital 9 etc) players develop skills and experience in a position!! That is were they perform best 99 times out of a 100!

Give me strength!!
