Now my version of the chant (and I'm sticking to it as I think it shows Wellington in a better light) that I hope I can convert the YF to:

Oh Wellington! (returned)

It's full of bars, bars and hookers

What we are seeing now is part of the success of the whole Phoenix thing. We are now attracting a bigger following than just football fans. There are so many people who I have met who say that this is the first time they have been to a football game....and they are loving it.

What it means though is they are bringing to the games ideas that they have picked up from other sport and entertainment such as the seven's and the netball(including those bloody thundersticks)

So it will take time for all these newbys to learn the ways of the yellow fever...the chants etc.
In the short term its going to be very frustrating for the old core YF but what a fabulous opportunity to build support for the Phoenix.

There has been so much buzz around town post Beckham....everyone  is talking Phoenix and football....lots of people are planning to go again. I reckon if this continues to grow then every home game will be like a smaller version of the Sevens...costumes,colour and lots of noise!

Oh good, I look forward to that

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

As long as those costumes have "Phoenix" written on them, the colour is retro ricki yellow and the noise is telling those Aussies that they're cheating again!

I was in aisle 9 on Saturday - couldn't hear anything much out of aisle 9 ("Beckham is a w**ker"??), particularly with those ridiculous bangers and the teenage Becks fans. I'd like the words on the big screen!Cantona forever2007-12-04 10:28:37

loved it how the mexican wave died down in the YF zone!

I took my dad along who had been a bit sick lately and wasn't up for the zone.  So for the first time I watch the Fever Zone from afar.  When I saw the mexican wave flare up I was hoping you guys would kill it.  It didn't worry me it was happening, I just thought it would be funny for you guys to teach the crowd a lesson.  I was surprised when the mexican wave ripped through the zone with full surport.  The word must of spread to kill it cos you guy destroyed it on the second time around.

Is really hard to hear when your halfway across from the stadium, it doesn't travel so well, I now know what it sounds like, so when I was in Isle 14 at the galaxy game I strated it up there as best as I could.
Usually in isle 25 so its heaps easier to hear!

Wish it were that easy, I've got a medically induced sleep problem. I only had so much coffee so I could stay up for Fulham's match against Man U, but I fell asleep after 20 minutes!

It was actually a good match. I normally watch Serie A, but I wanted to understand the commentary, but there was only Cantonese, no English or Italian
