Now that we can see the real skeletal build of our team, how do you
think well do against all the big teams and in general the A
league. i know its hard not having seen anyone play as a unit, but
as an educated guess...
I saw Midtable, looking for around 7-9 wins. A bit of a
stretch with a new team but if West Ham did it last year then we
can do it too...i hope.

i think 6th place is attainable, providing that the rest of the
signings are of the same sort of level of quality (or much higher)
than the first lot...
i'll be happy as long as 1) we have the same manager all season. 2) the team doesn't finish last and finally 3) we're in the competition again next season, and the season after, and the season after that.......

only mid table? im going for the top 3, depending on the other
imports. 2 fast powerful strikers from around the globe would
really make us a force not to mes with
Permalink
Yeah me too...Mid Table..Stuff that we will without doubt be in the
top 3..along with I reckon Sydney and Melbourne.
if we are good enough and keep the pace up then maybe even 2nd or
1st
Permalink
Yeah, I think we could do it...Also I got a question...If we do
come second or first..De we qualify to be in the AFC? As new
Zealand is not in the Asian region like Australia is are we still
allowed to go to AFC?

Melbourne, Sydney will be the teams beat. Queenland and Newcaslte
both came good at the end of the last season. dont know about
Adelaide this season lots of off the pitch problems.Perth have
new owers and the Central Coast made the fianl in the
first season. The phoenix? Ricki show last year how good he is as a
manager.
Top 4 Melbourne, Sydeny, Queenland, THE PHOENIX
Permalink
No. The Phoenix can not compete in the ACL.
Damn, too bad..I would ave liked to see The Phoenix go against
Asias best.
yeah, but can we get into the world club championships?
i would like us to do well, really really well...but at the same
time the other teams have a headstart on us
if we were to do well in the upcoming season (eg: top 3) im sure we could put out a challenge to some of Asia's best, they'd be keen to play pre-season matches

don't no mate pretty sure they can play.
The winner of the league and the fianl play in Asia

I don't think the best teams would want to play us..I mean for
example the best team in Japan right now Uwara Red Diamonds...They
go to Europe to play preseason games and the like and play teams
like Werder Bremen, Bayern Munich...and even Man U tours japan and
korea to play....We would end up playing teams from like veitnam or
Thailand.
true, but there is only one way for us (and the comp) to go,
UP.
even if we were to play against the best teams from Veitnam or Thailand is that such a bad thing? i mean if we can somehow create a fan base over there it could lead to economic benifits to the club and possibly a player.
Club A goes to Club B, sells some merchandise, gains some new fans, picks up a player and off it goes, thats why the top European clubs do it. if we do well then we can join in...all the better for us...first we need to win.
maybe if/when we get these south americans we could set up trips over there

I guess so...If we do well enough over the years maybe we may be able to get something going with even a few smaller chinese and japanese clubs...When Uwara Red Diamonds played in Sydney they had alot local support there..I am sure there are alot of Chiniese and Japanese people in New Zealand who wouldn't mind going to see Phoenix play a Asian team in wellington
Permalink
yeah, but can we get into the world club championships?
No. There is no path for the Phoenix to qualify seeing as we can't go through the ACL.
What about the Phoenix playing the nzfc grand final winner to play
in Oceania club champs. I think we will come 7th nothing wrong with
7th if you think top 2 or 3 you are aiming to far.
Top 3 is a bit too optomistic. I'd be happy with 5-7th - which I
think is about right. Will depend on the quality of the imports,
and if Im being mega optomistic we could (at a big push and mega
luck) make the finals - but im not holding my breath. I predict
either a 5th or 6th!
I predict 5-7th. Dont' think we'll finish last, but it will be
tight near the bottom next season. I reckon 7 points separating the
bottom 4 teams.
I think that mid-table is realistic which will leave the Pheonix a chance to make the finals depending on form at the end of the season.
As for the ACL, Pheonix cannot play, nor could the
Knights. I still would like to see them be able to compete
for the Oceania spot however.
I am happy to hear the question asked though as it indicates a
whole new group of supporters who were not following the Knights
(as otherwise you would all know the answer to the question).

No chance. As much as i would love for it to happen, i think
we have a better chance of singing Maradona to play for us.
Like Terry Said on SBS interview..THis year Top four and in a few
years we will win it!
Terry also said hed pay me back for those fish and chips i shouted
him a couple month back...tightass.
Well, what ever place we come this season I know we won't come
last...Perth has already booked it's tickets to the Wooden spoon.
I think you will be mid table, I am not sure who will be wooden
spooners, since the comp this year looks a lot tighter.

7th for the pheonix - you have only made like a couple good
signings, dont get ahead of yourselves. the rest of your
sighnings are a-league rejects. 7th.
double for melbourne

I'd go 4th at best but probably just outside the 4.
