What does it mean for the backroom staff. .like Nathan?

Could we see any of these guys becoming the CEO of the team?

That's what Terry did (the pay the bills part not so much recently).

However if any/all of these guys were part of the Board they could certainly bring some skills to the club at that level.

Yeah, especially around the sponsorship and commercial areas you would think.

Can't remember whose biography it was but under the heading "what the average club chairman knows about football" he left a blank page.  It's true though, you want them asfar away as possible from team affairs.  They need to let the football people do their job.

"OK guys, so now we're in control of the Phoenix, what next?"

"Well, I heard that Ryan Nelsen actually ran the All Whites World Cup campaign, so let's sack that Ritchie Herbert chap"

"Good idea. I think we could also save some money by playing home games at the Basin Reserve and taking at least 5 or 6 games a season to other centres".

"This sh*t is easy. Can't understand how Terry f**ked it up. I think we should increase ticket prices by 50%. Boom!"

"Some of those f**kers on Yellow Fever made fun of my mo. Let's shut them down with some spurious litigation they can't afford to defend. Actually, if we start a fan forum within the Phoenix website we can monetise it and also moderate it ourselves! Sweeeeet".

I still think that this is the key word.  I mentioned it in the other thread, but there is very little place for loyalty in football.  If Ricki set up terrible formations and tactics, and we got beat every week we would all be calling for his head.  No one would be saying "we cannot just cast him aside because he got us to the finals 2 seasons ago".  If Paston played like a donkey and couldn't catch a cold, we would demand he was dropped from the AW's and replaced by Moss despite the fact that he played amazingly against Italy in the world cup.  Things move on very quickly, and you cannot live in the past.

If Terry is unable to run the club properly, which is the case at the moment (no coaching staff, backroom staff, etc) then we need to look at, and embrace, the alternatives.  This is despite all the amazing things he has done for the club in the past.

I have heard that running a football is very difficult - maybe we should bring in some other experienced coaches to assist Ricki.

Well they play 2 games a season outside of Wellington and that has been very successful - I see no reason to change that.

Ticket prices seem reasonable, but we need to increase the crowds.  Why don't we bring in some backroom staff to provide some marketing, a functioning website, etc?

I love the fact that they already have a t shirt with my face and mo on it.  Let's work with the YF to ensure that the relationship between them and clubs remains intact.

It would be great to get to a situation like the Warriors were it effectively pays for itself, while gradually, over time little bits f cash are used to improve the club, training facilities etc

I must say that - regardless of whether he can run a football club - Gareth Morgan's recent thoughts on tax and welfare are very good.

Anyone who calls their thoughts about tax and economies "The Big Kahuna" should fit in well with  the Nix and the Fever.
