^ Brilliant!!!!  Play him at DM. Then scapegoat him to the rafters in the bar afterwards (in a friendly way of course). Only role-play after-all.

With that kind of experience you could represent NZ in an intercontinental playoff!

Have boots?

We may have found our very own Jeremy Christie :)

Boots, yes. Fitness, no.

Only good in short - very short - bursts. And prefers playing the indoor game.

Peter, what position do you play? I'm turning out for Auckland too, and my fitness is shot to hell. Between us we might be able to cover an entire 90 minutes. - Rainer

Usually CM or AM.
I'm keen to come and watch regardless, so I'll bring my boots, and if needed I'll be available.
Can also ref if needed too, though it sounds like quite a few on this thread can.

Usually mid-cum-keeper but pretends to be a mid-cum-striker.

Cheers, I hope it turns out as well as it does in my head :p
Flying down Friday night - can't wait!
Big thanks to Roadkill who kicked it off with organising the 1st round in Auckland.
Really hope this goes well and we can turn it into an ongoing thing.

Cool, the club made mention of the game in the e-newsletter

Don't miss the Fever Cup on Saturday

Another quality football fixture this weekend - the annual Fever Cup! Second Leg - Saturday 21 December, 4:00pm at Boyd Wilson Park in Kelburn. All spectators and football experts welcome!

Back in February this year a handful of Auckland based Nix supporters and Wellington based supporters played a game of football at Bill McKinlay Park before the Phoenix faced Perth Glory at Eden Park.

The Fever Cup is now an annual competition between Auckland and Wellington, the first leg held on the weekend of the Eden Park match, and the second leg held on the weekend of the 12 Pubs of Lochhead.... this weekend.

Being a two legged cup, doesn't winner get decided like the two leg matches in the champions leg?

Am I correct in believing the first leg finished 4-nil to Auckland?    If that's the case it's basically doubled the goal tally of an Auckland team in A-league related fixtures and gave them there first clean sheet?

Yep it was Auckland 4-0 Wellington, at the same spot New Zealand beat Mexico 4-0 in the 80s.

Suprisingly, none of us got the call up for November.

ditto to the above question, if the welly team need a left or right back I'm happy and keen to play. or either side of midfield for the matter,

Got a couple spots in the Welly team, so please confirm if your still interest and head down to Boyd Wilson for around 3.30pm ish.
Where a yellow fever tee for kit.

Cheers

Hi all,

Merry Cup Day's Eve!

The Auckland team may need a few players, if you'd like a run please bring your boots.

Meeting at Boyd Wilson at around 3:30pm, or catch most of us staggering out of the Cambridge Hotel in the general direction of Boyd Wilson Park

Cheers

Mike

Sadly not, Vettie blew a heater hose the other day and went wees all over the road.
I managed to do a quick McGyver fix but I don't think she's up to the trek this time around. Got nightrider flights ages ago though in case something like this (inevitably) happens.
One day she'll make it to the Ring of Fire, most likely with an insulation tape stripey bonnet
Also, she's got a 2L and 5 speed hiding inside :)

Would love to but the surgeon who gave me two new knees last year would probably be a bit Meh on the thought!

I will try and get up there for a laugh to be entertained by high quality, highly skilled  athletes playing excellent football

Good stuff :) no doubt catch up for a pint or few afterwards to celebrate the win / drown our sorrows.

Is anyone able to take some photos or video of the game?

So we need a 5-0 win to lift the trophy? Damn, I shouldn't have been so hungover in the first leg then.

Swings and roundabouts mate,  there'll be a lot more "Ballon D'oh!" than "Ballon D'or" from our lot this time

Does anyone else think that the first and second legs should take place during the same A-League season so the games are closer together? Let's make this the first leg and count that 4-0 loss as a practice run ;)

Yeah that makes sense to me.   There's talk about a game in Auckland the weekend when the Nix play up there (1st Feb)
