If one game where he beats up on a right or left back is a criteria for signing then we'd have a team full of Australian 20yo's hailed as the next Kewell who went nowhere.

muscat has got what he deserves, he is a thug. He has got away with shoving and elbowing players all year, oar took the piss out of him well and truely and he couldnt handle it. The cracks in his game are showing horseshead212009-12-01 17:59:50

Cracks usually show a damn sight quicker than the 25-odd mostly very good, very consistent defensive efforts Manny has put in over the last two seasons. So he got exposed a bit by a kid in red hot form. So what, it happens to all defenders great and small. He's learnt a lesson that will make him a better player.

As for shoving and elbowing he better bloody do both because I don't want some mincing little pacifist in my back four. I'll welcome him back into the starting line up with open arms.

really??

cracks in his game - only seem to show against Oar this season, and the central coast striker last season. This year he has been strong against all comers.
As for the pushing shoving etc, watch any defender in the a league and you'll a bit of that..its what defenders do to upset nancy strikers.

Queenslander 3x a year.

Muscat: Good. Was a stupid thing to do.

But I am worried about the 'several' players possibly on misconduct charges . Not what we need.

Raws 2nd Goal.

Luke Devere was challanging Daniel in their corner, shoved him off the ball, broke away and put Charlie "Susan Boyle" Miller into space and he fed Heynaldo!

Referee (and Lino's for that matter) didn't do a f**king thing!

Just one example...

so i watched the replay of that incident again. Both players shoulder to shoulder, daniel goes down easily followed by devere. Devere gets up and wins ball. daniel gets up and waits for whistle. Seen alot worse incidients get less attention

Yeah thats kinda how I viewed it BBSmeltz. Daniel did what the Bahraini's did. Was soft on the ball and went down too easily (which Daniel is known for). Respect that he is not a physical player but the A-League supports a physical game (ask the Juniho when he was at Sydney) so he needs to be a bit tougher on that front. The funny thing is that there is a small minority that whinge for the foul on Daniel but then claim that Oar was tapped and needed to harden up and the red was a massive oversight by the referee. The 1-eye patched brigade at its finest.

The main issue is that DeVere was allowed to run near 40 yards unchecked which started the movement. Its like someone thought he was Jesus parting the Red sea because there was nothing in his way.

As one of those that firmly believe that Daniel was fouled I can dispell the thought that Muscat didn't deserve to go (and called Muscat an idiot on the match thread).  I think you'll find most of those arguing with Muscat being sent are different to those that think Daniel was fouled, but if you can find any I completely agree that their hypocrisy knows no bounds!

As to your second point - I completely agree, and perhaps that is not the fault of the man who lost the ball, but some of the other 10 who were behind the ball at the time, and also Siggy for completely failing to mark the striker.

mate have a look at the highlights on youtube. I have more than once now and still cant see what your crying about? there was no push. shoulder to shoulder and both went down. Devere was just more determined to get the ball back. The replay clearly shows daniel starting to chase then deciding it was to much work. If i got embarrased like that id chase alot harder to make up for it bringbacksmeltz2009-12-02 17:51:15

Daniel was soft on the ball and got knocked off the ball easily. He had the chance to stop Devere at the outset by giving away a free kick to kill the move and once he chose not to do that he had the opportunity to chase Devere with a bit of commitment, didn't happen.

As for Muscat he totally deserved a red card, he was a pillock and let the team down badly.

That collective dissent charge is absolute garbage.  Surely it must get applied in at least 50% of matches?

I thought Manny deserved two matches, I can only assume the third match was because he's retarded to hit the player so blatantly.

Just watched it on you tube, and there is no way it was shoulder to shoulder, Daniel was in front of DeVere and was pushed in the back (just before the camera zooms in when they are side by side as they fall).  Daniel then gets up starts to chase looks like he thinks about putting his right foot into De Vere's ankle and then decides not to (as he probably didn't want to give away a stupid yellow card on the attacking side of half way which he would be crucified for on here).  We even had more defenders than they had attackers there, so it's not like they had an overlap that necessitated a soft yellow.

Lochhead had moved across to cover the winger advancing down the field before being waved off by one of the CMs leaving him slightly in no mans land on the outside of Reinaldo, and the centre back didn't move across to cover and was marking no one at all up the middle leaving Reinaldo at about near post to slot it home unchallenged.

Edit: Daniel was easily shoved over, but that doesn't change the fact that it was a foul.

Agree with card over goal and i'm sure Daniel would to if he knew the goal would come.

Agree with everything here. Just watched it on youtube, and the culprit number 1 is Siggy. Terrible awareness from him - he does not recognise the dangerous undefended space to his left, and never moves in to cover it. If he had just recognised that, the ball to Reinaldo wouldn't have been anywhere near as dangerous.

I'd thought that Siggy probably had his poorest game for the Nix on Sunday, and this goal has just reinforced it for me.

Look what happens when Siggy has a bad game huh?

Wait 'till Greenie can't play and a few people might get an idea of what he does...

Don't think we'll have to wait very long for that.

I say, wait till Ifill can't play then we could see problems.
