as for the idiot who poked my son in the chest and started with the chelsea are sh*te etc  as we were walking out cos he had a chelsea badge on his jacket grow up hes 10 for gods sake!! keep you hands to yourself

that's a shocker, I'm surprised you didn't clock him one

I nearly did clock him one but seeing as I'm posting on here for others to be good role models for my kids it wouldn't be a good look for my son to see his mum punch some idiot in the throat now would it

I am thinking of taking my Digicam and anyone seen throwing anything but their voice might appear on here in a name and shame thread. You see the thrower, let me know and I'll photograph them!

Harsh and I hope not necessary.

Totally agree with everything written on here about the throwing of bottles yesterday at the game!

We saw kids as young as 10 throwing empty bottles at the CCM players leaving the field.

It is up to us all to take responsibility and if we see any poor behaviour we have to clamp it out as well as the stewards.

Any mileage in getting some flyers published before the next home game, with some reminders of our responsibilties as supporters and the behaviour required to be a Phoenix fan?

We have all been setting the benchmark in our first season and we dont need players and supporters of the opposition teams going back with a negative perception, not just of the Phoenix, but of our city and our country.

Now where would they have learned or what would they have witnessed that told them this was acceptable behaviour??????

Guys, I've read enough today to form the opinion that there are real problems occurring in the Fever Zone. Unless stamped out in some way this is going to escalate. I'm no wouzer but don't some of you think that some of the actions of others in the zone are encouraging this behaviour?

Before some of you start sounding off, it is a fact that people can get out of hand for any number of reasons. Booze, chanting, tribalism, just the atmosphere even. Look at the atmosphere in the zone and honestly tell me if you think it has no effect on these fighting, bottle throwing, beer tossing, idiots?

If some fans can't handle their beer and cant behave, give up the drinking. They might actually enjoy the game going on in front of them and even remember it too!

enough of the Super Nanny impersonations. Let's just say dont throw bottles and let's not go too OTT comparing the Zone to something out of Lord of the Flies.

Few photos here of people in the Zone enjoying themselves- but you are right about stamping out anti-social behaviour - Frankie Mac and a bikini just dont mix!

All it needs is for one of us to say to the guy in front of, next to you or wherever "cut it out!"

People get caught up in the heat of the moment and do things they (hopefully) later regret, but if you tell them why it's a bad idea, they'll calm down.

Perhaps there are a few people who might be there more for the chance to be rowdy than to appreciate the football ...

and there's also another point to be made, in my opinion.

I sit (I mean I stand) in aisle 22 and I'm quite low, and at least 2/3 times during every game, some dickhead throws some stuff down on us. Now, if it's beer I don't mind cause at least that doesn't hurt, but they throw everything down.

That's in a way even worse than throwing stuff at the opposition (not that I approve of that, of course I think that if YOU threw it - and you're reading my post - you're an insecure fellow whose daddy was probably too drunk to love you and whose mum shagged the whole neighborough to make a living...) but anyway, back to my point, why would you throw stuff on the other YF fellas like us? Would you be happy if somebody got hit and their head cracked open or something?

I think everyone (98% of the people) have the right attitude and love hanging out with you guys at the Ring of Fire, the BB and the F Lounge, but I say, FFS, we have stewards and cameras...can't we look at the footage and f**k these guys who threw stuff????

What was Steven Segal doing the whole time apart from smiling at us??
Let's clean up the YF section from the scum - and let the people assigned to this job do that soon, or maybe one of these days we might start taking action by ourselves...

here's my thought!

Some of the post match antics at the BB were a disgrace. I'm getting the duty manager to put in a written report, when thats done I will report on it here. Thankfully, from what Ive heard, no Yellow Fever regulars were involved, even thought the culprits were in retro Ricki's. We don't tolerate vandalism or theft, so as a venue we are going to crack the whip a bit, and police the intoxication levels more strictly for the next home game. Sorry it had to come this, but some elements of the crowd this weekend just went too far, during and after the game.

Fair enough. Now it's up to us to tidy up the zone at the game.

Think you will find you have the support of all those YF members who appreciate what you and your staff have done to make what has happened so far a success.

Unlike the media here in wellington, we realise YF are not to blame, and we have been really lucky with the behavior and attitude of the football fans up till now.

The problem is anyone can buy a retro ricki. and it doesnt matter if they never go to a football game, if they get caught being a sh!thead, all of us get crapped on coz "he's just another football hooligan".
I think the Phoenix will be asking for the TV  camera footage of the crowd, and if they spot the culprits, i hope they come to us to help identify the prats.

Good point. And while we're at it can anyone confirm that the person who threw the bottle wasn't "hired" by the DomPost to do so?

Seems strange that they have been the only ones who have seen the incident...

I was disgusted to see a bottle come down just in front of a CCM player as he was heading in towards the tunnel.  He looked up and understandably did not look happy.  Our boys were still out in the middle of the field.

Yeah and it was farken close - could have broken his nose. I didn't realise it was a full bottle. Could have put him out for a couple of games - then there would be hell to pay!

Unless it was thrown by Joel Griffiths!!!

I can. I was right there looking at the CCM mariners and chanting WHO ARE YA as they left the pitch. Then I saw this bottle landing not far from Petrovsky, and then I decided that was it.

oh God knows!! :)
I only know we're such a great bunch of guys and every time I go to the 'Ring of Fire' I have the time of my life. And I tell ya, I've been a season pass holder for AS ROMA for 6years..but the atmosphere in the YF zone is so nice it gives me goose-bumps.

So let's isolate the idiots and let's continue to have fun!
Have you realized how many players of the opposition give us a wave or clap their hands when they exit the pitch? I think that's very indicative of how much noise we make and how much support we provide to our team.

Of course the CCM made it clear they got the points (with their gestures) but hay fair enough, the bloody won the game! I would have done the same - and at least they didn't show us the finger or the V...

And after all, we were all shouting WHO ARE YA to them, so it's understandable.

I'm just so gutted we didn't win that game, cos bloody hell we went real close!

CNUT ran into Petrovski and Vidmar at the airport. They told  him we had the best fans in the league - and made it really hard for them to be on their game. He didnt mention anything about  the projectiles.

can confirm absolutely - the CCM players came off in a group. clapping, waving and generally 'having a larf' with the YF crowd above the tunnel when a bottle came sailing over from about aisle pp - or further back -  and just missed one of the CCM players.

that's my point Fev! I'm sure these guys are professionals and they've seen it all. I mean, the odd projectile can happen everywhere, even at Wimbledon for that matter!
That's why I think the whole episode has been blown out of proportion.
On the other hand I'm glad most of us have raised their voice as this kind of behaviour is very lame and shouldn't be accepted.

I have been thinking about writing something about how some people (often drunk) can ruin your game - but didn't want to be a prude. I love my beer, but usually don't drink at the Nix game cos I get there just after work, so don't really have time..

But anyway, I'm still very optimistic.
And for what concerns the media..they're all against us anyway. For them it'd be the same if a CCM was shot or just yelled at. And come on, they're always looking for a chance to crap on you..it's how they make their living.
