Is it long enough to trigger an injury replacement recruitment?
We havnt used that in the past not sure they would this time.
We have signed injury replacements before, wasn't Francisco Geraldes an injury replacement for Rojas before he got injured too

Confirmed broken collarbone, likely 6-8 weeks just for it to heal

Gutted for him as it's a crap injury to recover from as well. People definitely understestimate the overall healing time (which at 6-8 weeks is about right) as well as the rehab needed to get full range of motion/strength back too. Brother did his earlier this year and he was nearly 3 months off work - Compound fracture + corrective surgery to screw the bones back together.

Payne's a strong fit lad though, so hopefully there's no complications/surgery needed. 🤞

Wishing you a speedy recovery Payney.

Sorry to hear that YoungHeart.

No need for it, it was via hilarious circumstances.

Not such an hilarious outcome for him, but we have a good laugh about it now.

Is he really that strong though? Seems to me he is always injured. And that fall he took in the weekend wasnt even a freak landing or anything, was the sort of tumble that players take all the time and it broke his collarbone. Somebody get in his ear and tell him to drink some milk

Sheridan and even Piper provide full back cover for Loke.

He'd being an unlikely callup but Oscar Van Hattum's time in Canada maybe done, and this season's wingback setup would likely better suit him than last campaign.

With Payne well at least this injury happens at a good time re his World Cup hopes. He'll only miss the November AW games. Though might be awhile before he's doing throw ins.

I had a work mate years ago in Melbs, who was a useful VFL footballer. He had done his shoulder (pretty common injury in Aussie Rules), had surgery and every hour or so stood up do arm stretches with a big rubber band. All part of a lengthy rehab.

Another I know is Hamish Watson, he was signed as a injury replacement for Krishna

Feel like we won't get an injury replacement as Loke and Sheridan (once Hughes is back) have shown promise/they aren't huge liabilities at this level and may as well give them the chance to prove themselves.

Kirwan could be a good injury replacement loan/mutual option as he plays RWB and has expressed desire to move closer to NZ for AW selection. Probably unlikely/difficult to make happen.

Retre is also an option, when he is fit.

We have cover and there isn't a stand out player that you would wanna grab with an injury replacement deal (gone are the days of JHS for the Nix calls).

If Payne had done something more serious like an ACL, then it could have been worth having a chat to Kirwan. Playing in the ALM would put him right in the AWs shop window like Roux, Elliot & Loke.

Just so much more difficult for Baze to judge his form at a middling Serie C team down in off the radar Sicily.

But Payne should be back around Christmas time, so a bit pointless Kirwan thinking about uprooting his 6+ years Italian career for a likely short stint in Nix colours.

I know his name has been chucked around a bit, and he's trialed unsuccessfully before but has Kelvin Kalua improved since those days?

Wonder if Chiefy would even consider Mileusnic to play there like Armiento. He's got the pace to get up and down the line. Probably would only do it coming off the bench if we had no other options.

It was a classic road cyclists injury.
