There is a seat for you in storage class, if you would care to apologise to Ricki for trying to get him sacked and the players for telling them that they were wooden spooners and you had no faith in them.

Would be nice to see the humble pie scoffed in one sitting too and then be forgotten about.

I said that we were playing crap (and we were) but I was never off the bandwagon :P The only way i'll stop supporting is if we get kicked out of the league. (hopefully it doesn't come to that)

Yes I am being an arrogant f**kwit, but I never trashed my team when they were down or 'because its my right because I paid for my ticket' and blah blah blah

Its time for those that talked smack to show a little humility to the team because the team has been fronting up. And before anyone says 'well its about time' or 'they are paid to front up' then remember that you are entitled to be fans and support your team and admit when you had no faith.

So we aren't allowed to criticize when they play badly? After that Adelaide game where they showed no passion whatsoever everyone had a right to be angry.

The sack Ricki thread was over the top though.

I always had faith but I haven't been shy about criticising when I felt the performances deserved it. Don't think I ever called for Ricki's head tho'! I've never really panned any of the players either, apart from LLG and Mulligan.

You're a feisty little sausage this evening, A47!

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I panned Dodd when he played midfield as his passing was atrocious. He isn't a midfielder though so that was Ricki's fault more than anything.

The person I have the most sympathy for in this world as a fan is the Mad Butcher as that man has blind loyalty to the Warriors like no man has. When they were sh*t, he copped an earful. Every year when they lose 7 on the trot and the 'Warriors are crap' stuff starts, he never loses the faith. But every year, they come back and so do the band wagoners. We should take a little lesson from that.

Its fine to be critical on a performance but 'sack Ricki' and 'We are the knights in disguise' are just OTT and smack of bandwagoner tendancies from those that only want the good times. Being critical is good if you can then provide a solution. Saying 'We are sh*t' does nothing except expose bandwangoners and you can see them all trying to get back on board now.

New Zealand suffers from bandwagoner syndrome in general because when the All Blacks lose, stop the press, ground the planes, open a royal commission of enquiry. Yet we are still consistently the best team in the world. I'd hate to be lumped  in the same boat as a thugby supporter.

i'm gonna put a positive spin on this - if you support your team through thick and thin, then when they start doing well you can celebrate fully and not feel like a tool

dont confuse bandwagoners with a casual fan though. I dont blame people who only turn up to the stadium to watch games when the team is doing well. As, as a casual fan why would they front up cash to watch a side play crap and lose?

It is those who say "phoenix are rubbish" and often laugh when they lose, then when start winning start supporting them all of a sudden...theyre the bandwagoners

Have you ever thought that it may have been the calls for Ricki's head that have resulted in this dramatic turn around in form?

Sometimes by putting a little pressure on people to perform can turn a negative situation into a positive one...

I love Ricki to bits but when we were struggling at the foot of the table and the team are playing sh*te you have to point the finger at someone. I think over the past 7 or so weeks he has done a phenomenal job and should be commended but we shouldn't lose sight of the fact that we also played very poorly for the first 3rd of the Season.

I don't agree that bandwagoning is a NZ phenomenon, A47. No one can stick the knife into their own teams like Aussies can (I've seen it at close quarters: not pretty), and frankly I think it's probably much the same all over the planet. It's human nature.

You've basically defined bandwagoner. Come during the good times, bail during the tough times. Why does the casual fan come? Cause the team is winning = bandwagoner (although I accept its a bit looser than that)

Breakers have the best crowds at the moment. Why? cause they are winning. Cause everyone wants on the bandwagon. If/when they start losing, watch them disappear and not support and then you'll also get phrases like 'I've always been a breakers fan' or 'that was the best win ever' or Kirk Penney is the greatest' or..... get my picture?

Supporting a football team is an emotional thing. It's why we watch and why we support. You go up and down with the team and trying to make fan reaction to results logical is a bit pointless imo.

I agree. Who cares about the bandwagoners. It's more about you guys who turn up every week even when the performances are dire. Celebrat the success now - you deserve to. That's what it's all about.
I haven't made it down to a game yet this season (I don't wear the pants in this family) but hope to still make it to a couple. Otherwise its support from afar I'm afraid.
Respect to Yellow Fever for the positive influence you bring to the NZ football scene. Aww... go on then

I wouldnt say i hate those guys though. People can still support the team and not turn up to games. Just because theyre not like us turning up every week doesnt make them not fans.

Im suggesting there is a difference between a casual fan and a bandwagoner. If we are winning it is expected more people will turn up. Why? Because people are more likely to part with their money to watch some quality football. If we're losing theyre less likely to turn up (they may still do sometimes)...it doesnt make them any less of a fan at all...and certainly doesnt make them a bandwagoner (they still support the team and consider themselves a fan)

Fans dont have to turn up to a game every week. I guess this point is particularly evident for out of towners. Sure some like HN with the knightz would have flown up no matter what the result. But i would never bothered spending so much money just to watch them lose...yet i was still a fan and supported them back here at home on tv...i didnt consider myself a bandwagoner at all...

Id call a bandwagoner more as someone who jokes about how sh*t a team is when they are losing, giving anyone who supports them sh*t "why would you go watch them losers?"..yet when theyre winning theyre the first to praise them and turn up to games.

There is a difference between the 2 there...no way you can convince me otherwise

must admit was pretty upset with the form of the early season, not that I was calling fo ricki's head, just for the team to man up - which they've done. I must say that all is forgiven after the last 3 weeks performances - the faith has been restored,.
