Be careful what you say. Do you really mean that? Do you really think that?

With everything else going on, yes. If we can't even keep kiwis we consider to be 'average but promising', then what are we even doing?

I can sell whatever I damn well please, thanks.

underwhelming if true... couldn't keep a starting spot at CCM, the only team with a worse offensive record than ourselves.

Was he not injured for large parts of last season?

Okon wasn't a fan iirc, that wouldn't have helped things. I like Powell but would rather we give a young Kiwi forward a go instead.

If the FFA does introduce loans between A-League clubs for this next season, maybe we should ask about Dane Ingham for a season? We need some fullbacks and he is going nowhere at the Roar right now.

Think he's overhyped because of the NZ callups, reckon Mullen and even Galloway are better. Gulley or Hudson-Wihongi would be better shouts. Agree loans should definitely be a thing

Even though I like Powell, I don't think signing a player who was released by a club bottom of the league is ambitious enough. Especially considering there were times we were signing English Championship players and players who were champions(?) of the A-League the season before.

Scott MacDonald has left Dundee United and is apparently  looking for an A-League gig, would rather have him than Powell up front

Dundee United have announced he turned down a new contract with them. I watched them a few times and McDonald wasn't close to the  player he used to be. A couple of years ago he could've tore the A-League up. Also, reports are he's a complete c**t in the changing room.

Maybe more effective than Powell though yes.

26 appearances for Socceroos and infamously zero goals. Brockie like at international level.

Apparently has some decent connections into Croatia so wouldn't surprise me if we end up 3-4 of them.

Can anyone confirm if Tratt was at Sydney United when Rudan was coaching? Would be a good first signing for us

He was signed from there by the Phoenix at the end of Rudan's last season in charge.

The club would be keen for Tratt to be back, but that largely depends on whether all the issues that led to Tratt leaving have been resolved, and I don't know that that's the case.

Would love to see Andre De Jong at the nix. Tears it up in the national league and over the ditch. Would be good as a backup and can defienlty become a starter in the future.

I've said it before but I watched him more closely this season and had some doubts. I'm not sure he's quick enough for A-League.

We definitely should be looking at him though so someone who can actually tell a decent player can see. Hopefully someone at the club has Rudan out and about watching players.

If Niko has lost his puppy fat and still got legs, he'd tear this league up. Sadly, even at QPR he was on the way out.

This is the kind of comment which only leads to wild speculation. Like what was the "medical condition" that led Pavlović to be released.

I thought he was diagnosed as 'bat shark crazy' and that was reason enough

Well yeah, no joke, mental health would be a medical condition. As would be "substance dependence".

I was just reminded of this by the News page picture of "Ravishing" Rick Rude, who like many wrestlers got hooked on painkillers which eventually led to his death.

After sitting through an A-League season like the last one, that would be a high risk for most of us on this forum.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

He's always been notoriously lackadaisical about fitness and training. Which is a shame, since with the talent he has/had, he could have been a truly top player.

Not really; unless you're a cod. His personal issues are none of our business.

Assuming we honour Fenton's & Smith's deals to be re-signed, we have 12 on contract for next season. If Krishna is now a domestic player, we will have 5 visas for Rudan to work with. This leaves between 3-6 spots to be filled with Aus/NZ players. This drops to 2-5 if we retain Tando as the first choice Keeper.

All u20 spots will be filled with Cacace/Singh/Smith signed.

Our defence is garbage, so probably needs two visas used on a RB & CB. Another two visas on DMs to shield them might be prudent as well. Which would leave one visa to get another forward.

For the 2-5 Aus/NZ signings, I wouldn't mind Payne, TAHW and De Jong given a chance to impress Rudan in pre-season. Maybe see if they are willing to head to China with the squad.

Gulley surely has to be at the very top of this list.
