Might have to have a glass of Sheridan's to celebrate the signing!
Transfer Talk - 2018/19 Season
Suspect that this relegates Williams to impact role off the bench, and Burns possibly out if the match day squad.
Nichols rather than Burgess or THW (assuming he's signed)? Something's clearly up with Nichols.

Yep A-League winners not even making the bench is a pretty good sign of depth. But you have to wonder what's going on with Nichols.
and straight from a Polish winter to Adelaide summer..or Wellingtons ;>)
Long journey so maybe not on the field till week after match. I excited as we need cover for Roy.

Rufer and Mandi have been the stand outs. Butters has been okay in his cameos, but not set the world on fire. I'd say that's it. Has he been playing for the wee Nix?
Having a "Big fella" option against some of those Australian defenders makes for a good scenario.

Just not good enough to slot into the XI atm. Given the lack of first team football, I’d be suprised if he’s still here next season
I read that wrong. I thought it said he was Chilean!
How long until some other A-League team realise that we have stuck Andy Carroll in during January.

Ah, yes, the famous El Sheridano.
2 things:
How do you pronounce his first name?
Do you think that Rudan's history of playing in similar teams to where the likes of Kopa and Cillian have come from has meant he is quite comfortable in signing these types of players. He would of playing with and against some very good footballers at this level that were more great cogs in a team rather than star players. A team of these guys can [obviousy] compete well at a League level under the right coach and team environment.
Good.....a big lad up front at last. Should give some of those opposing centre backs something to think about and take the heat
off our knocked about small strikers.

just like Rudan has said all alaong he is always looking for a chance to improve our options, this guys gives us just that. A massive unit up front to play a proper centre forward role. He'll have the likes of Krishna, williams and burns tearing around him looking for lay offs, but he'll also take two men with him for a while giving space to singh etc in the midfield. Plan A or B he just gives oppostions something else to think about, rather than working on how to defend our pace they now have size and power to think about.
He also deals with an issue that the Nix seem to have this season, dealing with sustained pressure late in the match by an opposition trying to get back in the game. Having a big guy to come of the bench and hold the ball further up the park should help a lot in this regard.
Other thoughts:
Has a better goalscoring record than Andy Keogh, though at a slightly lower level overall. Also has a incredibly detailed Wiki page for a journeyman striker.

He only picked up one yellow card in 10 games for Jagiellonia. That will be another shock once he gets the usual welcome from HAL refs meted out to Phoenix players.

Hasn't been a problem for Kopa who hasn't picked up a yellow card.
Yep, A League match officials, a new target for them too. Especially a new Nix target. Matt Simon will be left in peace as they zone in on our guy.
Wow, talk about a new positivity - no-one's used the word "underwhelmed" yet!

No wonder he could not keep his spot in Legia lineup (lol)

I think we are in a state of shock. Transfer window open for only 3 days and we make a significant signing. It's nice for Rudan to have options with his tactics. a real squad, not a team that self pics 11 and then has fillers. This is very good by the Nix.

I really like the fact that none of us on here had any clue about this.
Very good football play on park. Very good football business off park. These are strange but wonderful times as a Nix fan.
Very good times. You can see a plan in motion, Club have talked the talk and are slowly but surely walking the walk. Did any of us see their bigger picture or vision?

The obvious conclusion is that FFA will take our licence away for not meeting their metrics.
Spent roughly three years with Chris Killen in a similar position as a bit-part Celtic striker. Wonder if he asked Chris about Wellington.
I bloody love the look of this signing and can't wait to see him in black and yellow.

I think the plan has (probably) always been there. But, the execution has been sharke at times (ok, maybe a lot of times).
I'm sure most of us have done a shark job or been part of shark projects before too, but we've had the luxury of being able to do it in relative peace and quiet, without media attention etc.
The FFA and licence malarkey is just another test. I'm convinced all will be resolved eventually. We just gotta play on.
Is the club still going to sign TAHW and Gulley??

I'm not convinced he is the tall centre forward people seem to think he is. In some ways, I hope he isn't. Because if we start to play with a traditional #9, then we probably need to move to 4-3-3. Not sure our squad can handle that. Krihsna would need to player wider, Fenton would need to do more defensive work, and Dura would need to cover more area in the back line with only 4 back there.
Rory played that role at Argyle while Cillian was there. Cillian used more as a winger.
I'm always amazed at the A League scouting network we've got. I know there are agents etc, but how the fudge do we wind up picking up rogue eastern European competition players.
I suspect he has the same agent as Kopy, Kurto or Talyor.

Nope. Stellar Football Ltd. He's there on their client list with photo (headed by Gareth Bale - valued at 72mill and Jesse Lingard 36mill) valued at 720k. But no sign of the other 3.

Decent signing but I kinda feel disappointed, its like when you're getting hopeful about what's in the Christmas present and by the time you tear at the gift wrapping its a Lynx Africa body wash pack.
I'll take the Lynx Africa just because I don't want to look ungrateful but g'mon bro what happened to the Nintendo Switch that was hyped up?
I'm pretty sure that's our foreign quota done so I'm guessing we're now left with NZ/Aus players or our current players to take up the marquee am I correct?

We tried marquees, none of them landed. And that's okay. This guy won't be on big money and he really adds something to our squad that we don't have. At the end of the day I'd rather have no marquee than have the wrong marquee. Problem is a lot of potential marquees are older players who are looking for a payday towards the end of their careers. The competive desire and strong team culture that Rudan has introduced relies on everyone giving 100%. If there was no affordable marquee who could promise the same drive and fitness of the rest of the squad it could turn out to be detrimental to a system that currently is working fantastically well, regardless of the players pedigree. Anyway, I do actually quite like this signing too, I think he can do good things for us. Definitely makes us more tactically versatile

In Rudan we trust (now that he's found a place for Kopa and taken us on a winning streak!)
He's better than a lot of the suggested alternatives, gives us tactical depth, is taller than Hamish Watson etc. As someone mentioned, hoping it doesn't mess up our current successful tactics. Williams on a run of goals, Krishna scoring recently, would love Burnsy to sneak a couple- think he has definitely added to our speed and hunger on attack- Singh aod Louis have been helping themselves and now this new lad with pedigree to be a spearhead, but with skill.
Rudan has got great performances out of players a lot of us were writing off- a good third of the squad I'd say! Lets watch what happens next.
Tests coming up- we have to be better than Adelaide, West Sydney and the Jets. These are our current peers. Good to hit Victory sans Honda and I hope we'll be an even better team and push them further next time we play them.

I will be happy with Lynx Africa if it improves our scoring stats (as alleged)
