Also, sometimes less is more. Look at the standard of the imports in China where they have mega bucks available but are restricted to 3 imports on the starting list. Maybe by applying the same budgets to less places will result in a better standard of player and more players that are marketable. Of course this is just in theory as some A-league clubs (ahem) struggle to even attract adequate imports

If the HAL will now observe international windows, it removes the pressure to minimise the number of Kiwi players at the NIx because so many could get called up at any one time for AW duties. Have I got that right?   

Yep.  I'd expect a much more NZ focussed recruitment next season.

The talk of signing him for next season comes from the me posting about the FFA rumoured plans to be putting in place a AFC visa slot, which he would be eligible for (if he hasn't become a Kiwi by then). There is no serious talk about signing him

Right so he is an academy player, and people are advocating signing him outright to a visa spot? 

Why would anyone waste a visa spot on bench man 23/24/25/26???? Thats lunacy.

My point does remain though. If he is a visa player, he is not to be signed

Krishna and Riera were both top via signings from the same league though.

A moot point anyway as there is apparently no talk of signing him.

Harris hasn't been a national league player because (as per earlier posts) FIFA won't allow Under-18s international transfers.

Suspect we'll see him this winter as he's just turned 18 and then in Nix pre-season.

Southern Jeff's new avatar really drives the point home that this has been a very long off-season already.

Because of the restriction on play not sure.  Coaches certainly rate him, which is why he's done Hong Kong tournament and played and trained with first team on and off for a couple of seasons.  

Hopefully can get out and watch him for United in Central league this winter if he's playing.

Think it look fairly good- everyone behind the ball,park the bus and then Krishna, Burns and Singh score counter winners. Doyle or Krishna captain. Smith with his short passing range can play an A-Rod role in midfield. Parkhouse can carry the water. Right back still looking like a problem.

I do not see any Slavonic names on this list. Hopefully some of our Balkan contingent will be here next season.

If Rossi is injured can't we sign him as an injury replacement until the end of the season?

I heard from fairly reliable source that Harris is currently enroute to Hong Kong for a pre University Scout type event. It seems if good enough he'll follow Joe Bell into the states
