Yipe good pod. Sound points about continued NZ border closure hurting the season, rather than any lack of ambition by the club. Incl Taylor leaving.

3 seasons in a row hugely Covid affected, for the Nix. The cash bleeding just rolls on. The club deserves support & some luck.

The Phoenix Men pick up their first win of the season despite some penalty disagreements, and they take part in a Phoenix vs WSW double-header this weekend with the Women playing their first ever match. The pod crew look over the Women's squad and discuss what the hopes for the team are this season.

Thanks team. Soccerway tells me no ALM pens yet for Waineo. And it maybe awhile before he gets one!

Last season pen takers Davila & Hemed.

Sorry to hear the Pod is shutting up shop team, really appreciate the work you guys have done over the years, hopefully there's a 3rd iteration waiting for someone sometime in the future, maybe when we're back playing at home.

Damn, proper shame that. I think the pods went a long way to keeping people engaged while the team was overseas and listening to the pod before the game was a great part of the matchday experience. Thanks for the effort team, hopefully someone else picks up the mantle 🤞

Though not surprised still genuinely sad to hear. Thanks for all the hard work. Also thanks for taking the time to rearrange your normal lives couple of hours a week to entertain a bunch of weird strangers who all just happen to like the Nix.
Other than Patrick, I don’t know what the rest of you look like. Nevertheless the next time we are in the cake tin, Ill find you and buy you a beer(s).
I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

Being in Japan the pod really helped keep me up to date with what was happening, you guys have been great, and will miss listening to you guys.  Hopefully someone else picks up where you guys have left off.

When the vibe is back and the team is home, with the pandemic done, this will rise again.

Great job over the years, guys and guests.

Really loved listening to the pod, thanks heaps guys.

The niche cast (same guys as the Niche Cache site) do cover a lot of sports and frequently have a section on the Nix/All Whites/Kiwis overseas for those who need a fix.

not to talk on behalf of others, but I suspect we would have been able to keep it going if we had home games this season. It's a bit of slog without them to look forward to. So something may pop up next season.

But if there are any others who want to give it a crack, we're happy to cover the hosting costs and promote it etc etc.

Hope so, it's a shame engagement is low because the team is away and that's why we need more avenues of engagement - like the pod.

If anyone takes over the mantle, or Phoenix city restarts, I'll be happy to continue with the patreon.

Oh damn.  Really sorry to read.

Thanks heaps everyone for doing it as long as you did.  Like others it was a part of the match week experience and I really enjoyed listening to you guys and it really helped with the team being away from home.

It is feeling like supporting the Warriors these days with the inability to watch the games live, but your guys pod was one of the few things that normalised it.

When I moved to Masterton for a couple of years listening to the pod was part of my drive over the hill to the game (it was usually a second listen by then) and these days I still always looked forward to it.  If you only got it out on game day it forced me to do some yard work so I could listen before the game started.

And thanks Patrick for even editing the pod while he was living overseas.  Thanks everyone!

I really appreciate all your hard mahi!

As I’m sure everyone has said, thank you so much for introducing me to the nix. Or at least providing me some understanding of the club. Wish you all the best and thanks for all your hard mahi.

Thanks for all your work over the the years. It's been entertaining and informative and a great way to spend train journeys to/from work.

Can you still buy Deep Spring Lemon/Lime?

Also, if you decide to send out Richard Parkin's stuff, I'll put my hand up for Gareth Morgan's clipboard. :)

Cheers

Heh!

Feel bad about how many of the games have been convenient at 6pmish here for me.

Not sure if the one episode players lounge pod is related to you guys in any way- but it has got the Steven Taylor sending off story and I thought I’d heard it here so I had a moment of confusion then…

Cheers great effort. I hope we’ll hear from you again in better times at the Nix for Welly fans. I’ve got a story or two about that brilliant Snakes game too, even though I couldn’t attend.

Cheers guys.

Just in case you haven't heard, the next addition of Fever Podcasts has started, Fever FM. It's got it's own thread, 5 episodes in the bag already, Uffie and Domey have already made appearances. Get it in your ears
