but if we terminate players contracts early (particularly imports) don't we then run the risk of having problems recruiting in future
(also Ricky seemed fairly supportive of Clebo - given the language issue- in some media piece today)

I agree it's largely a back four problem. Even though mistakes are
being made further upfield, and the ball being coughed up,
tonight's game just confirmed for me that our back four are
positionally shaky, and can't do a marking job - whether
man-marking or zonal. I can't believe how much room the Adelaide
midfield and strikers had to run at our goal the whole game. Some
players who need to step up now are not doing the business. It's
not going to get any easier, and they need to show what they're
made of about now.

them, I'd get rid of Cleberson, Old and Coveny, although that may

Two questions about the upcoming transfer windows:
Can you just terminate a contract mid season? I would have
thought that with all that Employment contract stuff that if
someone has signed for a year then thats that!
I find it hard to imagine that there are any half decent
players not under contract sitting around mid season waiting
for a call from the Phoenix!

If you terminate a contract you would have to agree on the payout. That payout would go against the salary cap and I imagine we don't have much room to move within the cap.
The only hole is the one where you can sign injury cover for as many $$ as you want. Ethically unsound but the only option.
It's VERY unlikely we'll see any major changes.
