It appears there are only 5000 people at the stadium watching the egg ball game Wellington vs Southland.

So it looks like the Phoenix are pulling in decent crowds at the moment, in comparison :)

I'd compare what a Hurricanes game would get with a Nix game. Not an AirNZ Cup match.

Considering rugby's status in New Zealand compared to football, it's not a great comparison really. Phoenix do not bad on attendance in general if you do want to compare though.

What's Hurricaines average? 15,000 or something?

Looking forward to getting to my first home game this season. Quite a group coming down from the Eastern Bay of Plenty to watch.
What do we want to see?
Ifill playing
Greenacre being set up with a couple of chances
A clean sheet
No appaling refereeing decisions
What do we want to hear?
Yellow Fever in full voice
The roar of the crowd when successive home goals are scored
Not much to ask, is it!

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

Shame we're such a dour defensive team:

http://au.fourfourtwo.com/news/113426,preview-wellington-phoenix-v-central-coast.aspx?

results over the first seven rounds are a little deceptive as Phoenix have been incredibly unfortunate not to come away with wins over Adelaide, Melbourne and North Queensland over the past three weeks

For the Mariners, this is shaping as something of a danger game as Wellington, despite the results, are one of the more attacking sides in the competition, with Bertos's ability to run and beat opponents intrinsic to Phoenix's gameplan.

Exactly. One thing that pissed me off about Andrew Dewhurst last year was that he was going on about bad crowds and how the knights had almost as many people turning up, which was complete rubbish. the knights averaged about 2000 people by the end of their second season, and even that may be generous.  Even when I told Dewhurst that via text, he still denied it! Don't get me wrong, he's a good bloke and not a bad commentator, but he was very very pro knights to be point of delusional at times.

I can just picture you counting everyone in the ground...did the final number include ball boys too?

yes. that was proved on Sunday. with no Ifill, no one seems to want to take the ball forward, which leads to everyone falling back which leads to sh*t defence.

This weekend:
Jets to go down to Glory 1-2
Gold Coast to draw with Victory only cause they dont have many people left to play
Fury to fall at home to Adelaide
Roar to get a home win 2 -1 over Sydney
Nix to win 1-0 over CCM. We have only ever conceded a single goal in a home game and CCM away form is not great having trouble lost last two away both 1-0. It seams scoring is their issue. After last saturdays game our NIX will turn up and play hard for the full 95min and Greenacre to slot an ugly goal in the back of the onion bag - left foot toe poke.

+ Ferrante to come on and miss an open goal from 3 metres
Leo to have a go from 35 metres
Siggy will get a header on target at a corner

I'm surprised he hasn't grabbed the ball off Paston and had a shot from a goal kick

Looks like we will have Ifill out imo. If he didn't finish training then I wouldn't be starting him at all. If he is a chnce then maybe on the bench.

So Costa for me. But Rojas can easily be on bench as well.

Why dont we organise a fight between Costa and Rojas. Would make great half time entertainment and would also settle the argument about who is the better player!!!
