Durante is out for two games though :(

Perhaps Ivan Vicelich on loan?

Quick word for Lochy. We've been a different team since his return (even though he was apparently the main problem with us earlier in the season).

Apart from one moment when Dodd got goal side of him (and North executed a perfect back pass to the cross bar), he had an excellent game and combined down well with left-sided players when foraging down the flank. Also got many a timely tackle and header in. Helped Daniel's performance no end as well.

Well done that man, but you are far from alone.
(wine kicking in obviously!)

I know, I know, its serious!

And in breaking News...Ricki Herbert reveals how he'll be sending a dozen beers to Paul Thompson of stuff.co.nz for his Dominion Post piece of inspirational writing.
Got the team well fired up for the Adelaide game.Job done!

Now Paul Thompson, can we get a piece for Monday's Dom Post re Dura and Brown, for  poor conduct, um.. oh! ..and " unprofessionalism"  for going and getting yellow cards in todays match... and have another go at Dura for his "lack of commitment" for not being available now to play the next two matches v Sydney and Fury...
that should just about do it, there's a good lad RedGed2011-02-06 00:00:37

Early on he was out of form and may have been carrying that injury he had for a while.  He's definitely been much better and seems quicker since his return.

Brilliant result, watched the game at Bar Fifa in Auckland (which is now Bar Eden). Props to the random other guy there who was well into the game, we even managed a rendition of "Wellington is wonderful" after the full time whistle.

A game played with heart, guts and 100% commitment.

Great result tonight and a good performance.

I also stuck $2 on 1-0 Phoenix at $15.00 so happy with that little bonus on top!

If only we'd played like that away a few more times we could've been challenging right up the top of the table!

Now all we have to do is emulate the Breakers and find a world class Kiwi who attempted to make it in the big time and failed. Then bring him back and have him score a heap for us...

Since Liz was at the game with the two Yellow Army flags, and it's the Nix first win at Hindmarsh, superstition dictates that Liz now attends all future games at Hindmarsh, with said Yellow Army flags, otherwise she'll be a jinx :P

I heard there was some fella by the name of Smeltz who was hanging about the place, who might fit into that category.

Anyone know if he's any good?

I only read the Thompson column this morning and have to say it looks like  he did the team a big favour by getting them fired up. I don't think it really mattered if we made the top six until last night, we would have lost the first play off game away anyway on the awful form we've had all year. Now we are in with at least a starters chance.

Now the team just have to read the column by Billy Harris today, and we should take Sydney out comfortably.

It was a fantastic team effort.
My thoughts were that although he played well Tony L's passing was poor.
The two best players by a mile were Danny Vukovic and my favourite player Marco.
Adelaide could have scored 4/5 goals, but our defence were up to it last night.
I'm sure there will be someone who knows what those yellow cards will mean for us. How many is Tim on?

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

INSTEAD OF ANGRY POSTS GOING ON FOR 40 PAGES, IT'LL BE HAPPY POSTS GOING ON FOR 40 PAGES. YAAAAY. HAPPY ANGST. (IF THERE IS SUCH A THING.)

So glad Greenie scored, he really deserved to get one! He and D-Mac = chemistry. Football chemistry of course.
If I died right now, I wouldn't even care, because the nix' just won my most dreaded away game.
