I was assured by a ref that Reid was a definite red and couldn't believe I argued.  Numpty.

from the five minutes he's played? I've watched him train (plus marked him out of beach football obviously). He's not quite Kruse - but he doesn't have zero talent.

I've watched him train and play for the ressies and he does an occassional good thing but he never looks up, suicidal at a higher level.

Just read Piney's blog and now i'm sh*tscared that we're going to have to rely on the Jest or the Jam Tards to help us out and halt Sydney's late charge for Finals Football!!!

Thanks Jason!

In my books Kruse is still a nobody, in fact that goes for any of the Tards!!!

My dislike of him blinds me to any skills he may have.  He's just an objectionable little cock - Kruse that is.

I still think he's over-rated.  If he's the best the Socceroos can do as a striker it's going to be a long, long, long slide down the rankings for them.

I think he prob is over-rated now - but not when he wasnt 2nd on goal charts and knocking them in in Asian Cup. The Nix could have had him.

Still eternally glad we don't.

I'm far more annoyed at missing out on Leckie than him.  leckie seems to have some semblance of Humanity (although he is a young Australian footballer so he could just be faking it).

One of my oldest friends is an ex FIFA badge holder and he and I hardly ever agree on refs decisions. They always seem to back the refs up.

The young ones we have are Psycho and (to some extent) Party all the time and Vuka.

Not sure any of them are the type to show alot of humility, but they don't operate in the Kruse class.

Plenty of articles, observations from his time in brisbane and the way he behaves on the pitch.  he sooks, he whines, he dives and treats fellow players with a complete lack of respect.

He hasnt played in Brisbane for some time, and looks to have grown up from those early days. There are  plenty of whiners and divers in all teams, he doesnt really stand out as being worse,  and I havent seen this lack of respect with Melbourne team mates. Seems baseless to me

PS this has nothing to do with the fact that you beat me in the A league picks this week, LOL

Once a cock.  Always a cock.  Diving, whining sook.  If an imported player carried on like that he'd be slagged by everyone.

Have you met him?  Know something we don't?  You're basing that on as much as HN was basing his point on.

I for one thing he's a horrible little man and while I don't hate him to the amusing degree HN does I still think he's horrid.

THE prediction is here

We have found our feet, we are going into the Finals.

Drum roll, dry ice smoke effects, wailing of scantily clad damsels etc.........

        Lucozade 0     Mighty Phoenix 2

Remember:

We are the Phoenix. We can beat anyone.

and

I can sometimes be near enough completely right!
(4-0 anyone?)

Banners, flags and flares will be banned in all homes in NZ for the full 90 minutes. You are being watched.......

Nostalgia isnt what it used to be...........

No I havent met him, and I doubt HN has either, I am basing my observations from on the pitch and  that is the way he seems to me, plus I havent seen any articles that are castigating his lifestyle lately. He has moved from Brisbane literally and is doing well enough at this club to be picked for his country. I'm past the predictable vitriol

Reds bracing for fired Phoenix
Friday, 4 February 2011

Adelaide United FC will be required to dig deep into its reserves as they prepare to battle it out against a highly motivated Wellington Phoenix on Saturday night at Hindmarsh Stadium in the penultimate week of the Hyundai A-League 2010/11 regular season.

Just three days after grinding out a point in trying conditions on the Gold Coast, the Reds are back at home for their third game in a week, faced with the challenge of overcoming a Phoenix side looking to consolidate their spot in the top six.

The short turnaround from the draw with Gold Coast United left Head Coach Rini Coolen opting to try and refresh his charges with a recovery session at the beach this morning in order to keep their slim top two chances alive.

Normally the players need at least one more day than they have nowso its our job to make them as fresh as possible, and we have to be ready, Coolen said.

Adelaide United sit three points behind the Central Coast Mariners, who have a game in hand on the Reds, but midfielder Paul Reid, who is available to play after having his red card against the Gold Cost rescinded, is not giving up on the prospect of still being able to sneak into a position that would give the Reds a double chance in the finals.

When youve got the chance mathematically youve always got hope, Reid said.

Central Coast have a big game tonight against Melbourne Heart and if Melbourne can beat them (the Mariners) and we win tomorrow night, then it will put a lot of pressure on them even though theyve got a game in hand on us.

So were still hopeful that were going to finish second, but I guess finishing third will be a good achievement for us.

While Coolen may be concerned that the Reds could be leg weary, there is reason for the home side to feel confident heading into the clash. The Reds have won four of the teams five encounters at Hindmarsh Stadium, and furthermore Wellington has won just once on their travels this season.

But this time around, the Phoenix have no shortage of motivation to reverse the trend. Wellington will be driven to try and ensure a place in the finals series, while the players will also have the added incentive of the clubs 100th Hyundai A-League appearance to spur them on.

With this in mind and the fact that the Reds also have a lot to play for, Reid knows United will need to keep its guard up and bring its best to overcome Wellington and set up a gripping finale in the final week of the competition.

They (Wellington) are obviously vying for a top six spot and theyre going to come to Adelaide with a lot of confidencewhen youve got it all at stake to finish in the top six, theyre going to put in a really strong performance, Reid said.

Theyre a good team and have got a lot of good players all over the park, so weve got to watch ourselves. Weve got good home form and weve got to continue that against Wellington.

Coolen is still undecided on what changes, if any, he will make to the side that took the field against the Gold Coast, although he sent his clearest indication yet that new Croatian signing Dario Bodrusic could be in line to make his debut appearance as fellow defender Robert Cornthwaite battles back tightness.

More than likely he (Bodrusic) is in the squad. Hes here to play, we couldnt have a lot of football sessions with him, but hes in the squad and theres a good chance he could be in the starting eleven, Coolen said.

The Reds ran out 3-nil victors the last time the teams met at Hindmarsh Stadium, and Coolen will be hoping history can repeat again tomorrow night.

Kick-Off is at 6.30pm (ACDT) with gates open at 5.00pm, the match to also be in support of The Martyn Crook Foundation.

I actually had a chat to him last year when he was here.
He seemed to have a lot more humility and was straight up about his aspirations.

I guess people have to remember that people do grow up and we shouldnt judge them soley on what they did years ago.

Anyway, this is game day, so lets FIRE UP!!!!

But why no Macallister? I know he's a donkey sometimes, but he's scoring goals! Isn't that what we want?
