Hmm it 8pm local time there, dont know if it'll be 10 here with daylight savings changing? Anyone up with the plays?

I think we could either promote Diego to the midfield, or get Elliottt on board if possible? Not sure bout fitness there though?

Or play 442?
Think pav is back too?

I would look at this:

               Vukovich
Siggy   Dura   North Muscat
Bertos Brown Ward Daniel/Ifill
            BigMac Greeny

Paston, Hearfield, Toto/Daniel, Pav

Not sure about just Ward and brown in midfield though, not much cover for the defense. If Ifill is fit I assume he would start.

11pm NZ ko with Daylight saving change in NZ.
Queensland does not do Daylight Savings and rest of Oz doesn't happen until 3rd October.

I know, I know, its serious!

can we win ?

GCU are looking back in their rhythm the past 2 games although they're still sh*te.

the black guy up front for them looks one of the better players.

They're having huge problems scoring goals though and with van den Brink the defence can fall apart at any moment.

How's my driving? - Whine here

what about that ex- man united reserves reserves CB who scored that cracker on wednesday ?

tbh, lucky much ? leaning back, doesn't connect with it cleanly and hits crossbar.....

meh, they're nothing without Smeltz.

Key for me is marking Culina out of the game - once he gets in his rhythm he runs the show.

Real pity that Manny has to cover for Lochhead - ideally he would have been given the man to man marking job on Culina.

To free Manny up might even be worth playing Troy at LB.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Unfortunately (for us) he hasn't been playing much recently - just two appearances off the bench in the last four games...he wasn't even given a start on Wednesday night when Rees was away on baby duty.

Is Hearfield's 50th Nix game this weekend, that is of course if he plays.

unlike ard righ - i'd be inclined to consider that - stopping Culina is the key

Their little diving Argentian weasel can also be a prob so we might need to clone Manny

No point in stopping Culina if all he has to do is knock an aerial ball over the top to the striker that Hearfield is inevitably playing onside.aitkenmike2010-09-25 18:05:20

Sigmund is one yellow away from an automatic suspension.

4 already, needs to keep those yellows down. Everyone else is on 2 or lower.

Whoever is at right back is going to have their hands full with Traore, who has been eating RBs for breakfast so far. If there is even the slightest doubt about Siggy's fitness it would surely be best to play Hearfield. He's at least got the pace to stay with Traore.

i'm not sure if this belongs on another thread or not, but is anyone going to be going to the GCU game?  I'm going to be in Coolangatta next week and as far as I can tell it is about a 45 minutes trip via public transport, but if anyone can chip in with better ideas (I have a car, so is it better to drive as close as poss and then take public transport the last bit?) then i'd be grateful.

also - if this should be a separate "trip to GCU" thread then happy to create one and discuss this stuff separately from how the nix might line up etc.

I went to a game last year in the Gold Coast in October. We drove there, but had to park quite a way away at Robina Shopping centre, the walk didnt take tooo long. But it was all very messy and disorganised

I would suggest public transport.

Away trip threads in Dangerous Liaisons, here's the link;

Four of us going over - I know of a few others as well.

We were going to park and ride (free shuttle bus from car park) - if you go to Skilled Park Stadium website it has a map of park locations.

See you next Friday.

I though the 1st half against the Fury was the best of the season, so no changes apart from Lia obviously and depending on how Siggie is.

                                    Vukovic
Siggy/Hearfield    North    Dura     Muscat
                                      Brown
                            Ward            Toto
           Ifill                                          Bertos
                                   Greenie

Subs: Paston, Hearfield/Musa, Daniel, Pav.

If Siggie is injured, we're getting pretty light on defensive cover. And he's on 4 yellows so a suspension is looming.

he says he will probably play 1 or 1 and a half games out of the 3.

interesting (and only marginally offside - i mean off topic)

that Iffy is taking 15 pairs of boots back to help Barbadian football

we don't know how lucky we are - as the famous philosopher once said

He'd get carded if he was just sitting on the bench. Love our siggy.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

Or not.

The full sentence was:

"The Carrbibean Cup is a qualifier for the Concacaf Gold Cup, which usually involves Mexico and the USA, so it's quite a big deal, and Barbados have never been in it," Ifill said.

So I'd say that means The Carribean Cup which Barbados is going to be playing in doesn't involve Mexico or the USA... they will (usually) be in the Concacaf Gold Cup, which Barbados might qualify for if they do well in the Carribean Cup.
