Diego? You must be high. Toto is a complete waste of time. Feel sorry for Clapham.

Musa isnt ready. Defensive cover would've been a far better option or also an option. Ivan Vicelich

not necessarily, being involved in the fnals series means we still have a chance to win it, which is good, my expectations were that we'd be involved in the finals - hopefully this is achieved nthis sunday.....if we get knocked out in the first round I expect I'll be less content.
But it is so.
I expect us to win it because we are in it.
No finals is a fail.
Make 6th is mediorce when expecting to win it because while a chance its a small one.
Giving yourself a small chance over a big chance is mediocre to me
Look at the Green Bay Packers for inspiration.... In saying that you really need to be coming into the finals on the back of some good form.

VUKO did really well. But the defence went missing most of the time

7 undefeated games
ACL coming
playing well without brosque and bridge
looking promising for next season
seems to me they are in better shape than we are
And who are they playing in the Finals........
they get more games in the ACL than we will get in the finals
so they have plenty to look forward to
i just think they are looking pretty strong for next season
this year with brosque and bridge injured it's been like us without Ifill and Rojas
imho they do have something to be singing about, that's all

It would have been pretty bad had the ring in got a run ahead of the phoenix player. Don't you think?

corrected for you

I would rather our youth players be strikers, attacking players that we can bring on at the end of games. We are rarely going to bring on a central defender, so if there is an injury crisis, i'd prefer to see someone at least 21 years-old. Stronger, and more experienced, but still young.

Clearly Musa has showed some promise and he' not exactly going to gain the encessary experience in an NZFC team. Playing in the nix youth games and being an actively used reserve is the best learning experience for him.....then by 20 he'll be that young, strong defender we need.

Yeah but you've got to use him professor, otherwise someone else might see the potential and he's off like Kosta.

Im more disapointed that Clapham never got a run than the actual loss itself. Clapham obviosuly wont be signed next year. I think Toto is a conman. Tunnel Vision2011-02-09 23:13:39

In defence of the Toto decision, Ricki could have sent him out on "OK, you're always on at me why you never get played, now go out and prove me wrong son" mission.

Failed miserably.

There was an outside chance that the wee fella would step up under pressure, and he could have been an option in the finals (in the last ditch sub sense).

As it stands, he has pretty much proved conclusively he is not up to it. No hard feelings as he goes on his way then.

I know, I know, its serious!

Lovemore > Toto

Should have been signed before Pav. Except we needed another striker I guess. But now we are stuck with Pav for atleast another two seasons. Worst re-signing ever

Pav would have to be better than Musa though. If he was a New Zealander he wouldn't get nearly as much of the stick he does because he is still a youth player. For those who say at least Musa will develop, well same theory goes with Pav.

Lovemore did enough to warrant signing next year if he's still a youth player.

Poor, poor Nicky Ward. I want to give him a cupcake.

Vuko was fantastic. Nick wards face also had a good shot, pity it was the wrong end. The rest of him was dire. Toto was also good for a laugh. Our senior players really needed to stand up tonight, unfortunately they didn't. Sign Lovemore. That about all that can be said about that game

Ricky not putting Clapham on is because he knows he is good, so doesn't want competition when the Nix want to sign him for next season - the game was a lost cause anyway. Also sign Lovemore, great pace - looks a sh*tload better than Pav.

Don't re-sign musa (not ready)

No doubt about it - we've certainly signed some ineffectual mongrels over the 4 years.

Ricki didn't put Clapham on at 80 because it'd just be a waste of time, he'd have to sit out four weeks for Canterbury. He was purely there as an injury replacement. I'd say Lovemore has a good chance to be signed as a youth spot next season. Showed some good promise.

Apart from that, not worried about the result. Vuko was absolutely outstanding and I hope he keeps that form up.

With a back four of Hearfield, Dura, Siggy and Lochy with Manny and Lia in front we'll be very, very solid.

Brown, Ward, Rojas and BigMac leading the charge with Greenie, Daniel and North on the bench is a very solid line-up especially against a pretty ordinary looking GCU.

Bring on NQF.
