Sat 17 November 2007 - Nix v Sydney FC

Also my wife's birthday, and as it turned out, the day our son was born (approx 8.30pm).

The only home game I missed all year....although even when my wife went into labour (at around 10.30am that morning) she was saying, "If I have it quickly you can still make it to the game...."

My wife - magnificent in every way.

If you can organize a chopper you should be there in time for the 2nd half.

I don't know about you ladies out there but surely your special day would be even more special with 11,000 in the groom's party that can cater for themselves (e.g. hot dogs, 4-packs of Export/Tui, and sweet sweet mini-donuts) Maybe ask Uncle Terry to book out 2 adjoining corporate boxes. Problem solved.

I have to admit though, the temptation to start the "You don't know what you're doing" chant in the Eejit's honour is too strong for a man of my weak will.

Why not marry her at the ROF at half time in the center circle? You get the game and the wife!! I'm sure Terry would let you share the executive suite for the day! What a way to remember the day??

You may now kiss the bride! 10,000 loud Who ya's later!! Just keep you know who away from your Wedding Cake!

going from experience, I'm not sure the in-laws would be pleased with that idea. Imagine the brides maids having to switch out thier heels for boots so they dont ass over on the grass.

You are welcome to get married on Westpac Stadium before the game. We will also throw in a function room free of charge to host your function plus some other bits and pieces. Let me know.

Do it eejit. The club could do some publicity about it. Maybe get a spot on one of the TV news channels. It might bring a few more people to the game which would create an even better atmosphere.
I can't see any reasons why you wouldn't want to take up this offer.

Makes me wish I had a missus to marry before kickoff!

Go for it Eejit. I can see it now - the bride walking down the players tunnel onto the field, the bouquet/garter being thrown into Aisle 22...bachelor party at the Backbencher?

I think you should video the conversation with your fiance and put it on YouTube for us to watch.

I think me sporting a black eye, and checking out the 'Property to Let' section of the Dominion Post would be evidence enough of my proposing this idea to her!

just when we were complaining we had nothing to talk about-

this is fast becoming a candidate for best topic of the close-season

Cmon Ginge, you'd be imortalised in Fever history

- and you get the 'braver than gunga-din award' if you (without a hard hat on) ask your fiancee to consider the idea

wouldn't it be a classic though ....??
